Night had fallen, and the lights outside the dining room and scattered across the resort allowed everyone to watch the snow fall while they ate. The dinner rush was slowing down, giving Callie a chance to catch her breath and enjoy the view the wall of glass gave. As she looked out the windows, her mind drifted to Claire and Mitch. Callie knew Mitch was outside and that had her nerves on edge.
“Are you ready to quit for the day?” Mark asked as he joined her near the front of the dining room. “Piper, Levi, and Brooke are here and will be staying at least overnight to ensure they can work tomorrow.”
“I’m more than ready,” Callie sighed with exhaustion. “Do you think Jimmy would mind hanging out with Maya for a little longer? I’d like to talk to you in private if you have time.”
