When Mitch’s truck arrived at the back door to the clinic, Megan was waiting for them with the gurney. She was smiling when Mark got out of the truck.
“Does that smile mean good news?” Mark asked as he helped Tristan, the driver of the SUV, out of the backseat.
“It does!” Megan said with glee as Ryan and Shane loaded Jayden onto the gurney, she was holding in place. “Nate is awake and responsive. He seems to be shaken and still needs to warm up a few degrees, but is otherwise unharmed. Besides that, Barb is doing great. She is in the ballroom, stuffing her face and playing games with anyone still awake.”
