The only sound left in the lodge library was the cartoon quietly playing on the big-screen television above the fireplace. Maya had fallen asleep watching the movie with her head in Callie’s lap and her feet on Mark’s. Callie’s head was beginning to bob when Mark broke the silence.
Mark spoke barely above a whisper as he said, “I’m going to the front desk to get the key card for your room. The staff should have everything ready for you. Pajamas and robes are waiting for you and Maya on the bed. Housekeeping has also made up the loveseat for Maya to sleep on so you can sleep undisturbed. After today, I thought you might need that.”
