CHAPTER 5 AURORA“Ruffles!” I shouted when I got home. I hurried to her yellow-accented bedroom with the cracked window, empty bed, and her blue hat missing. She hadn’t made it home yet, which made me even more nervous. With autumn sweeping across Sanguine Wilds, the sky became darker earlier in the day. I didn’t want Ruffles to get lost somewhere in the woods, not knowing how to get home. She’d be an easy prey for a hungry hound.
