Chapter 17
Rachel drove fast. It was nice that she seemed to know how important this was to Becky. It was important to Rachel too. She had been there for every step of the investigation and she wanted to see this through as much as Becky did. They had to drive through town from the hospital. The streets were dead and Rachel was breaking driving rules right and left trying to get there.
It was important to both of them.
Becky kept one hand over the spot where she had been stitched. It was odd that there was just some thread keeping her together in one spot. It ached, but didn't hurt.
Her record of never needing to go to the hospital was over.
