As we were walking home together, I can't shake my head off from thinking about what happened in the library just now. How pathetic I must seem to Millie now. It's so embarrassing how I just fainted out of nowhere in front of her. I shook my head absentmindedly, did not notice that Millie had had her eyes on me. "Are you still feeling unwell, Danny?" her hand landed on my shoulder as if afraid I might going to pass out again. "No, no, I'm fine, I was just thinking about something", I said to her. I can feel my face turned red, she regarded me for a few seconds, then turned away, and she had a little smile carved on her lips. She understood what I was thinking about. "Don't worry, Danny. I would never think of you as weird or pathetic just because you fainted," like she can read my mind. She turned to look at me, "as a matter of fact, instead of thinking about you in a bad way, I was scared and so busy worrying about you." She let out a little laugh. I remembered her face back then, how she cried, how she calling desperately to me. Every emotion was genuine, I feel bad for having negative thoughts about her just now. Millie is a kind soul, and I of all people must have known that already. We stand in my yard now, eyes still on each other, I open my mouth, I wanted to say how much I like her, but stop myself instead I said "thank you, Millie. And I'm sorry for worrying you." She stands there, her hands held behind her back with her gaze lock onto the ground, cheeks blushing, "you are most welcome, and you had to promise me to not ever get me worried again," she wiggled her finger at me playfully. I nodded "yes, ma'am," I grinned back. "See you then," she started walking off. Then she turned back and gave me a little wave. I stood there watching her walking until she's out of sight.
"You fainted? You did?" Ash guffawed so loud. "Well, I was panicked ok, I guess the pressure was too much for me, that's why," I tried to explain to him, but Ash started banging his hand on the table, laughing his ass out. We were hanging out in my room, and I was pouring Ash with every detail about yesterday. Including the passing out incident. To be honest, even though Millie wasn't thinking anything bad about me, I still felt pathetic. I couldn't believe it. When I'm giving Ash one of my death glares, he started to ease his laugh to a wheeze. "I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to laugh at you. I just think that it's way too ridiculously funny, dude," wiping his tear away, " I guess I should have joined you when you asked, at least I will be witnessing with my own eyes, it would make it 10 times funnier," he slammed his fist again on the table. "Hahaha... Very funny Ash." I punch him on the arm, and that somehow does its job of stopping his laugh, "dude, that hurts" rubbing the place where my punch landed. "Good, the pain is just little to compare to the damaged on my pride," I added with a hurt look. "Aawww... Poor baby," Ash getting up trying to stroke my chin, I slap his hand, he laughs again and sits back.
"Let's look at it on the bright side, now we know that I was right about Millie liking you," Ash wiggled his eyebrows "no way, Ash. She never said that or anything like it," half believing my words. Ash just give a little chuckle, " sometimes you don't have to speak with words, your action is enough," he dramatically speak those words, " her action speaks it all yesterday," he said with full confidence. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." I leaned on my bedroom wall. "What about that ghost? Are you going to help her?" Ash said, suddenly changing the subject. "Yeah, I think so. I already promised her, I can't back out, it's going to make me looked bad," I ran my fingers through my hair, thinking about Ivy and the promise I made to her. "So, when are you going to do it? Finding the ghost's missing cat?", now that I already learned her name, it sounded strange hearing Ash mentioned Ivy as a ghost. I sit straight and looking out the window, "tomorrow night" I simply replied.
