Chapter 12

713 Words
I feel my phone vibrated in my back pocket, I pulled it out, and saw that there are 12 missed calls from my mom, and 10 messages each from dad and Ash, all with the same lines "Where are you??" I read each one of them but didn't reply. I don't know how long I've been up here, they must be worried. But, I don't want to go, I don't want to leave Millie all alone here. Like she could read my troubled mind, she lets go of my hand and started to get up, "I think we should go" she said looking down at me. I gape at her, probably looking like a stupid guy, but, I was confused with what she just told me, "We? Are you coming too?" I started getting up too. "Well, are you planning to left me here? All alone, by myself, no way! I'll follow you everywhere you go, Danny," she crossed her arms, pouting her lips sulkily. I already started walking, and Millie still standing at the same spot, glaring at me. I turned back and laugh, "well, aren't you coming or not? There's no way I would leave you all alone here in despair." Her face turned softer and we walk together.     As I walked out of the hospital building, I saw my dad's MPV already waiting outside. I made my way to the car with Millie pursuing me from behind. "They can't see me right?" she whispered to me as if afraid someone else can hear her. I can't answer her, so I just shake my head meaning no. I opened the door and she climbs in first and I followed after. Millie chooses a seat behind Ash and me next to him. As I was adjusting myself in the seat, my mom turned around, staring at me, with a worried and angry look filling her eyes, "where have you been? We were so worried, you just stormed off like that, without a word, and we tried to reach you but you're not answering. Don't be so selfish Danny," she finishes with a little choke, holding her anger and her tears at the same time. She turned again in her seat, "we understand your devastation Danny, but please be a little bit considerate to us, your parents and your best friend," she continued, her eyes not meeting mine. When I look at mom, I can see how tired she looks, I feel really bad for leaving her worried like that. I lean in closer to her, put my hand on her shoulder, "I'm so sorry mom." I turned my head to Dad too, "I'm so sorry Dad, and Ash, it was an irresponsible act from me, making you all worried like this," I told them honestly. Without looking at me, my mom patted my hand and dad just nodded his head. We ride in silence after that.     We get off the car as we arrived home; I told my parents I want to walk Ash's home. To tell the truth, I wanted to tell Ash everything that I have encountered when I was on the rooftop. As we walked, I started talking nonstop. Retelling everything. Millie beside me, listening intently as Ash did too. After I finished Ash stopped and look at me with an open mouth, "are you saying Millie is with us at this very moment??" I nodded my head, "yup, that's right. She is present here and can hear us both very loud and clear, Ash," I added. He gasped in shock and puts his hands on his mouth, "that means she must have seen me picking my nose back in the car too," with a look of horror on his face. Millie snorted beside me. I turned to her, "did you?" I asked her, holding my laugh. She burst out laughing and bops her head frantically. Ash still looking at me with that same horror look on his face, "well, I'm afraid she did saw everything, I can tell from the way her laughing her ass of right now," I give him a pity look. Ash's shoulder slump down in gloom, "oh no..." he said exasperatedly. I came closer and patted his back in sympathy, Millie's laughter echoing behind.
