The large great room was already crowded by the time they filed in. It was a huge space with a vaulted ceiling and a stone fireplace that took up an entire wall, but tonight, it felt small. Bodies were packed shoulder-to-shoulder—wolves standing along the walls, sitting on the furniture, and crouching on the floor. The air inside the room smelled of scared wolves and anxious pheromones.
