Later that evening, Amery stormed towards the war room. Those who saw him knew he was going to speak with Sir Tovin, and they scurried out of his way before his wrath could fall on them. All day long, the two had avoided each other, but the servants heard of the knight’s reassignment and they feared the arguments to come. Amery saw the trepidation in his servants’ eyes as he passed, but it simply fueled his anger. If only I could leave this all behind.
