The atmosphere instantly grew tense. Lily Turner, watching from the sidelines, wore a smug smile. She had always looked down on Henry. Gavin Smith had made a promise: If Lily could convince Sophie to divorce Henry, he'd buy a five-million-dollar insurance policy from her.
Lily, eager for that sweet deal, felt a growing resentment towards Henry. The contract with Micheal Lee seemed like a sure thing. All she had to do was make Micheal happy.
Henry eyed the advancing goons with calm defiance. "I didn't come here for a fight. I'm meeting a friend. If you know what's good for you, you'd best step aside." He tried to walk past them, but they closed in.
Lily interjected, voice dripping with venom, "He's so stubborn. Micheal, why don't we rough him up until he agrees to divorce Sophie?"
