UNEXPECTED LOVE - CHAPTER 12

1643 Words
"I really don't understand, why in movements, speech and naughtiness, you and Anne are exactly the same," Lian whispered to himself while having breakfast. After a while, Lian finished breakfast and went straight to Crishane's room door. "What time are you leaving?" Lian asked while standing beside the door. "Around 1 pm, Sir, why?" Crishane asked. "Come home early," Lian said and left for work. --- "It's good you came here early," Cristina said when Crishane arrived. "So I can help you prepare for the party, Tita," she answered with a smile. "Okay, come inside," Cristina said and they entered. After a few hours, at 6pm Lian went home and didn't find Crishane at home. That naughty one really left, he whispered and went upstairs to his room. While Lian was in the room, his cellphone rang with a text message. "Bro, aren't you really coming?" Gian texted, but Lian didn't reply. 7pm, the party started. Many guests of Cristina already arrived and most of them were Filipinas. "Where is Crishane?" Cristina asked Gian. "I didn't notice either, maybe she's still in the dress room," Gian answered. "Okay, attend to your friends," Cristina said. "Okay, Mom," Gian said and went to them. --- While Lian was in his room, he couldn't rest. He wanted to go but was still hesitant because he had never attended any birthday party of his mother before. But Lian still couldn't sleep, so he just changed clothes and went to his mother's party. When Lian arrived, he didn't enter and just peeked at the door. He wasn't noticed there because many people were positioned there including two guards. "Good evening everyone, first of all I would like to be thankful for coming tonight. Even though it seems some important people to me are not here, you still made me feel that I'm not alone," Cristina said while in front holding a mic. While Lian was watching his mother, his eyes caught Crishane sitting near the front. All my life, with the many beautiful women I met, you are the one I noticed. Your beauty is different. Your smile convinces my heart to beat. Your words teach me to be true to myself, Lian whispered to himself while looking at Crishane who seemed very happy for Cristina. "I want to call my godchild, Crishane please come here in front, you will sing for me," Cristina said while holding a mic. Crishane's eyes widened in shock and she stood up. "Go Crishane," Gian shouted. "Go ahead," many shouted and she went to the front. "But Tita, you will tell what I will sing," Crishane said. "Of course this is my request. I want you to sing my godchild Anne's favorite song before," Cristina said. "What is the title, Tita?" Crishane said, pretending she doesn't know. "Right Here Waiting For You," Cristina answered and Crishane took the guitar and sat on a chair in front and played it. Lian's heartbeat seemed to speed up. Oceans apart, day after day and I slowly go insane. I hear your voice on the line but it doesn't stop the pain. Lian's hair stood up, as if shivering from Crishane's voice. If I see you next to never, how can we say forever. And suddenly Lian's memories of Anne when they were kids entered his mind. Childhood Flashback "Ian, come, you play the guitar, I will sing," Anne said while beside a tree. "I don't know how to play guitar," Ian answered. "Okay I will just teach you," Anne said and played the guitar. "What is the title of that?" Lian asked. "Right Here Waiting For You," Anne said. "Why do you always play that?" Lian asked. "Because this is my favorite song," Anne answered. Present Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you. Childhood "Wait, what is that, Anne?" Ian asked while grabbing the paper Anne was holding. "Wait, give me that," Anne shouted and grabbed the paper again. "Hey, I didn't see it yet," Ian shouted and chased Anne. "Why don't you want to show me that?" Ian added. "I don't want to, don't look at it anymore," Anne answered. Present Whatever it takes or how my heart breaks, I will be right here waiting for you. Lian continued looking at Crishane and his eyes were reddening and tearing. You have so many similarities, why Crishane do I see Anne in you, he whispered. I took for granted all the times that I thought would last somehow. I hear the laughter, I taste the tears, but I can't get near you now. Childhood "What is happening to you?" Cristina asked. "Tita Riss, it's Ian, he's grabbing this," Anne answered and raised the paper she was holding. "Why Ian? Look, the designs for Finella's birthday party are scattered," Cristina said. "I just want to see it," Ian said and they suddenly smelled something burning. Riss forgot what she was cooking so the fire spread and that's where the big fire started at Finella's house. Present I wonder how we can survive this romance, but in the end if I'm with you I'll take the chance. The pain Lian felt returned, caused by what he thought was Anne's death - the body of a child lying in front of him found from the fire. Lian suddenly left but Gian saw him, so he called and approached him. Lian was about to leave, but Gian called him. "Bro," Gian said. Lian stopped. "Since you are already here, just come inside," Gian said while Lian's back was turned. Lian slowly turned around. "No need," Lian answered. "Wait, why are your eyes red?" Gian asked. "Gian, who are you talking to?" Cristina asked behind Gian. When Gian turned, Cristina saw Lian. She approached and hugged him. "Lian, thank you for coming," Cristina said while hugging Lian. Lian didn't speak but handed a small box. "What's this?" Cristina asked. "Gift," Lian answered and suddenly Crishane appeared. "Actually, I am here to pick up Crishane," Lian said and they looked at each other. "Okay Crishane, since the party is almost done," Cristina said, so Crishane just went with him. --- "Why didn't you come inside earlier?" Crishane asked when they arrived home. Lian didn't answer and Crishane noticed his eyes were red and he seemed annoyed. "Sir, is there a problem?" Crishane asked softly. "Yes," Lian said loudly and Crishane was shocked and moved back a little. "You, you are the problem, Crishane," he said. "W-why, Sir?" She asked softly, unable to look. "Didn't I tell you, never ever sing that song, but you repeated it," he said, very annoyed. "Tita requested it," she said softly. "I don't care," Lian answered quickly. "I also didn't know you were going to come," Crishane said. "Even so, when I say don't sing it, don't sing it," Lian said. "What is your problem with that song, Sir?" She asked facing him. Lian didn't answer and sat on the sofa. "Is it your team song with Ma'am Bishel?" Crishane asked. "No," he answered annoyed. "Ex-girlfriend?" Crishane asked. "I said no," Lian said. "Then what is it, Sir? Why even a song you make a problem?" Crishane asked. "You know nothing, so please don't be stubborn," Lian said. "Hay nako," Crishane said and sat on the sofa. Suddenly Lian noticed Crishane's leg because it was the first time he saw it. She often wears pajamas. It was white and smooth. "Sir, your problem is you avoid things. You choose to hide while you can just talk to me. I will be here for you, Sir," Crishane started to say but stopped when she noticed Lian staring at her legs. "Why, Sir?" Crishane asked. "That thing," Lian said, pointing to a bracelet on Crishane's leg. "Is that yours?" Lian asked. "Ho?" Crishane was shocked and looked at her leg. "I said, is that yours?" Lian asked. Still Crishane couldn't answer, seeming not to know what to say. "Crishane, answer me, I said is that yours?" Lian raised his voice. "N-no, Sir," Crishane answered softly and couldn't look straight. "Whose?" She couldn't answer and seemed nervous. "I said whose?" Lian asked again. Crishane was still silent. "My God, Crishane, I might really hurt you if you don't speak," he said, very frustrated. "I just found it, Sir," Crishane said. "Where?" "I said where?" He asked louder. "I-in the province, Sir." "In what province?" "I-in our old residence." "San Isidro?" Lian asked. "Ahh yes, yes there," Crishane answered. "Where exactly did you find it?" "S-sa, near our place," Crishane answered, still not looking straight. "Why can't you answer directly? Are you really telling the truth?" Lian asked. "Y-yes, Sir," Crishane said. Lian scratched his head and sat on the sofa. "Crishane, just be direct with me," Lian said. "I don't understand you, Sir," Crishane said. "Are you Anne?" He asked softly. "Ho?!" Crishane was shocked. "I said, are you Anne?" He asked louder. "Wait, didn't you say she's dead?" Crishane didn't continue because Lian immediately spoke. "Don't say many things, are you Anne? Yes or no?" Lian asked. "No, and you compare me to a dead person," Crishane said. "Don't joke because I'm serious," Lian said. "But it's true, is there a dead person who rises again from the grave?" Crishane said. "That, that attitude, you know I'm very angry but you can still make me laugh. Don't say it's just coincidence that you have the same attitude," he said annoyed. "That song you always sing, don't say it's just coincidence that you have the same favorite song," Lian added. "That bracelet? My God, Crishane," Lian stood up and scratched his head. "Don't say it's just coincidence that you are same in everything," he shouted and was very annoyed. Lian really cried and held Crishane's hands and knelt in front of her.
