UNEXPECTED LOVE - CHAPTER 10

Crishane sighed as if calming herself.

"I said who?" the woman asked again.

"Me and Gian," she answered calmly.

"So where is Gian?" the woman asked.

"They are together with Lian at the office," Crishane said.

"Then who are you?" the woman asked.

"Crishane," Crishane said.

"I mean, what are you to Lian?" the woman asked.

Crishane couldn't answer immediately, seeming nervous.

"Hey, did you hear me? I said what are you to Lian," the woman said louder.

"Wife," Crishane said.

"What!!!" the woman shouted.

"Yes, Lian and I are married," she answered bravely.

"Are you kidding me?" The woman asked, seeming to laugh.

"Just ask him," Crishane said.

"Stop saying nonsense, do you know who I am?" the woman asked.

"Actually not yet," Crishane said.

"I... am... the... one and only girlfriend of Lian," the woman said slowly.

Crishane became silent because she didn't know if even to whatever woman, they would pretend to be husband and wife too.

_Bahala na si Batman,_ Crishane thought.

"So now tell me, what are you to Lian?" The woman asked while standing and approaching Crishane.

"Why are you so annoying, we are married," Crishane answered bravely and the woman shouted at her.

"How dare you claim to be his wife!" The woman shouted at Crishane.

"And how dare you too, shouting at Lian's wife?" Crishane shouted back.

They were shouting and arguing loudly, pulling each other's arms and pushing, until Crishane's hair tie was removed.

Suddenly Lian and Gian arrived, so when they opened the door, the two appeared before their eyes, arguing loudly.

Lian pulled the woman away and made Crishane step back behind him.

"Why are you protecting that girl?" The woman shouted.

"What are you doing here?" Lian asked.

"Well, yesterday, I heard you came back, so I am here, then now, I will just find out that you have been here for 5 months? You didn't even let me know?" The woman answered angrily.

"Leave," Lian said.

"Come on Lian, I'm your girlfriend so you won't make me leave here, if someone should leave here it's that woman," The woman shouted while pointing to Crishane.

"Stay away from my wife," Lian said.

"No Lian, she's not your wife," the woman said.

"I said get out of here," Lian said.

"I know Lian that I'm the only girl you need," the woman said.

"Enough Nickie, we have been over for a long time, get out of here, and stay away from us," Lian said.

"Do you really love that girl Lian?" Nickie asked.

"Yes," he answered quickly.

"No Lian, I know she is just one of the women you are playing with right? You are only serious with me Lian, remember that," Nickie said.

"No Nickie, if there is someone I'm serious about, it's only Crishane," Lian said.

"With the many women you fooled, do you think I will believe that you have one you love?" Nickie said.

"Yes I have, and it's only her," Lian said.

"Are you kidding?" Nickie laughed. "Isn't it enough proof that I married her?"

"Haha, stop kidding me Lian, how about Bishel, your wife a years ago, is that still proof of true love?" Nickie said.

"Enough," Lian said.

"Come on Lian, you know? Just give me enough reason to believe in you," Nickie said.

Lian looked at Crishane and Gian.

"Now Lian, tell me the truth, why did you marry Bishel then??" Nickie asked.

"You already knew that Nickie," Lian said.

"See? Lian?, how can you say that marriage is a proof that you really love her?" Nickie said.

"Now I'm asking you again, how can you prove that you really love this girl?" Nickie asked.

Lian looked at Crishane again.

"I don't know," Lian said while looking at Crishane.

"Huhh!!! You don't know? Are you kidding Lian?" Nickie said.

"I don't know why, I don't know how to explain, but she's different, she changed my life, she taught me how to love, I don't know but I'm happy with her, she gave me real happiness, so I think I'm in love with her without any reason," Lian said while looking at Crishane, so Crishane just bowed her head and moved away a little.

"Is all that true Lian?" Nickie asked, seeming to tear up.

"Yes Nickie," Lian said.

"So now," Nickie said softly while slowly stepping back, "Fine, if that's what you want, I'll leave."

Nickie shouted at Crishane one last time before leaving. "You win this time, girl, but not forever!"

"Enough Nickie," Lian shouted and Gian guided her to the door.

"Get out Nickie, don't hurt her again with your words, or else," Lian said.

"Or else what Lian?" Nickie asked.

"You won't like what I will do, so leave Nickie, get ouuut," Lian shouted and pointed to the open door. Nickie left.

Lian checked if Crishane was okay.

"Are you okay?" Lian asked.

Crishane didn't answer and Lian just looked at Gian.

"I'm going inside," Gian said and entered his room.

"Are you okay?" Lian asked again.

"When you brought me into this situation, did you also ask if I'm okay?" Crishane said.

"Are you angry?" Lian asked.

"No, I'm happy, it's funny, it's so funny," Crishane answered, annoyed, while walking towards her room.

Lian sat on the sofa as if scratching his head.

After a while, Lian just lay down on the sofa while thinking, he thought about what he said earlier as if he asked himself why he said it, if he really needed to do that to make Nickie believe? Or is that really what he truly feels?

After a while he wanted to go to Crishane to see if she is really okay? But he wonders why he needs to worry about Crishane when it's not like that to any woman, so he just entered his room.

It was night, Lian still couldn't rest, as if he couldn't sleep, as if thinking if Crishane is okay...

Lian tried to sleep, and tried to convince himself that he doesn't care about Crishane, but it seems he already searched his whole room just to be able to sleep, but he still couldn't rest, until he couldn't stand it and went to Crishane in her room.

When he arrived in front of Crishane's room door, he sometimes raises his hand to knock but lowers it again because he is hesitant, seeming restless. After a while, he did knock.

When Crishane opened the door, Lian appeared before her eyes and immediately entered.

"What do you need Sir?" Crishane said, seeming still annoyed.

"Crishane, are you angry?" Lian asked.

"What's happening to you Sir? Shouldn't you not care?" Crishane said.

"Tell me, if you are angry," he pleaded.

"Yes I'm angry, do you care?" Crishane said.

"Crishane, I'm sorry for what happened, I didn't know Nickie would do that to you," Lian said.

"Who wouldn't end up like that because of the stupidity you did," Crishane said.

"She's just crazy," Lian said.

"You hurt that person eh," Crishane said. Lian didn't answer.

"You know? I really don't understand eh, why do you need to do this?" Crishane asked.

"I need to," Lian answered.

"That's it eh, you need to do it, but you don't make me understand," Crishane said. Lian just sat on the bed.

"You know everyone knows that Ma'am Bishel is your wife, then you made me look like a mistress in the eyes of many? Why Sir?" Crishane said. Lian just looked and couldn't answer.

"Sir Lian naman," she said annoyed, "My brain will explode from what you did eh," she added.

"One day, one by one the women you fooled will come and I will be the one they will attack again," Crishane said.

"Don't be scared, I will handle it," Lian said.

"Sir Lian, I'm not scared of them, I just don't want to look like a villain to them, and I don't want to be involved in the foolish things you do to people," Crishane said.

"You don't understand me Crishane," Lian said.

"That's it Sir eh, why don't you try to make me understand? So I will be clear what your point is," Crishane said.

"It's hard to explain," Lian said.

"Then try," Crishane said.

Lian became silent again. Crishane sat on the sofa and the two became quiet.
