My name is Marcella McAllister, Fourth child of the presiding Minister of Swiss Mark McAllister, who is the third in command after the President and vice president. Being an only daughter, I was spoilt rotten by my family, my older brothers inclusive. The only person who didn't approve of my behaviour was the Minister, Sir Mark McAllister
"I told you not to allow her have such sweets, they aren't good for her health" I remember my dad scolding my mom once when I was a kid.
I had fallen gravely ill after consuming more sweets than necessary. Not that sweets are ever considered necessary. "I just thought that, she might have needed something sweet to cover up the bitter taste of the medicine she took" mom defended.
And as usual, my father could win an argument against four presiding United members. It was a four against one challenge, no room for survival of an opposition. Always against my dad who readily gave up the fight.
This was the exact same thing that happened when I brought Calvin home
"who is this man?" dad asked curiously and I smiled
"dad, this is Calvin, the man I told you about?" I tried jogging up his memory
"what man?" dad pretended not to know him
"dad!!! I remember telling you about Calvin Adams, the man I fancy and want to get married to" I pressed on. It was at that moment I noticed. Dad wasn't going to support me at all. He didn't like Calvin and wanted me to have nothing to do with him.
I thought I didn't care about that at all, but actually, I did care. I really did care because I found myself begging my mom to help me
"you have my support Ella, don't worry about anything. Regardless of what your father says, I'll help you through your wedding. And besides, you have your big brothers to help you" mom reassured me that nothing would go wrong
But all but none went well for me as my brothers also took to dad's side regarding Calvin
They presented quite solid evidence against him to me, but I proved stubborn. The last person I had expected to help me didn't help as well. Mom didn't want her daughter suffering in the hands of any man.
Even with the solid evidence presented to me I pressed on telling myself "he wasn't that kind of a guy" and married him against my family's wishes.
Things went on quite well during the first two years of our marriage, Though, I couldn't give birth then,Calvin treated me like precious stones and didn't let anything happen to me. When I finally told him that I was pregnant, he was overjoyed. Or so I thought
He didn't let me do any kind of house hold chore and did them all by himself. This act of kindness made me think so highly of him. It made me feel that my parents were wrong
Even after our child, Bryant was born, he kept on doing what made me feel happy. So happy that when the elections for Mayorship Candidates came up and he asked for my help to convince my dad to assist him, I swallowed my pride and sought out my father who I hadn't visited in a year. As I was quit a convincing figure, my dad helped and Calvin became the Mayor of Swiss
And has fate would have it,all that sugar coated behaviour ended as soon as he was elected Mayor
he turned from Mister Nice guy to a very evil human being. I thought that the power must have gone into his head, but that wasn't the case. The truth of the matter was that he had concealed his true nature from me all these years, from the moment we started dating up until now. I had been made a fool of
I tried to sort it out with him, trying to make him see reason. But he just shut me up
As if that sudden cruel nature of his weren't enough to wear me down, he actually brought another woman into my house. The house is built with my own money, and kicked me out of it
The fact that he brought another woman wasn't as saddening as the fact that, said woman was my best friend, Samantha
The woman I confided in when things went wrong for me was actually the one who ruined my life
Being a proud lady, I didn't have the strength to fight back, so I quietly moved out of my very own house.
As I prepared to leave, Samantha moved towards me and whispered into my ears "you should have been wiser"
Those words hit me very hard that I regretted ever having anything to do with her.
I thought about returning to my family's mansion but remember how naughty I was, and how I had refused their advice against my marriage with Calvin
I turned towards the country side with the little amount of money I had left and bought a tattered house where I and Bryant managed to scrape for a living
All went fairly good until that day, the day Calvin tracked me down and yelled at me. Samantha had contacted me earlier on telling me we should both meet up. I turned down the offer, but she came looking for me anyways
"what do you want from me? Haven't I surrendered everything I had to you, why wouldn't you stop pestering me?" I started but she just laughed
"you gave me everything you had? oh please, everything I collected from you rightfully belonged to me from the very start. I just lent it out to you. Well apart from that lovely building you were kicked out of. I really have to had it to you El, you've got good taste. Too bad you didn't have the brains to notice my plot" she laughed so nonchalantly, as if she had no emotions.
I tried fighting the tears rolling down my eyes but couldn't. Samantha just sat there, laughing at my misery
"uh, I really wanted to ask you this from the beginning of my conversation with you. Why didn't you return to the Minister's Mansion, you spoilt little brat? Oh I forgot, you left in annoyance" she kept adding salt to my wounds and that didn't help
"Ella it's been a very nice encounter with you today, I really needed a good laugh. And by the way, I'm carrying Calvin's baby so never ever show yourself before me again. You piece of trash" I held her hand as she turned to leave
" a gold digger like you had no right to call me a piece of trash. If I knew you were such a w***e, I wouldn't have made friends with you anyways. It seems lifting such a scavenger like you from the gutters was a bad idea" she tried wriggling out of my grasp and I send that tears were about to fall from her eyes
"and let me tell you this lest you forget, your pregnancy doesn't make you special, you'll get tossed aside in the very end. And PS: don't ever come in front of me again, you're not worthy of my attention " having said this, I politely opened the door for her letting her take her filthy legs out of my house
I thought that was the end until Calvin came to my house to defend her, insulting me in the process
Thereby leading to my untimely death
"Ella, Ella" that was Calvin's voice I heard as I tried opening my eyes
Did he feel some kind of remorse and decided to come back to me? I thought and opened my eyes. It turns out it wasn't true
