Lena loaded the bags into the trunk just as they left the supermarket parking lot. As they turned the corner, a familiar face peeked out from another car.
"Hey, isn't that the woman who single-handedly took on a bunch of mercenaries?"
Maxwell Stone slammed on the brakes. "What did you just say?"
Maxwell was Liam's best friend; they were practically brothers since they were kids.
Liam filled Maxwell in on the earlier incident and sent the photos he had just covertly taken of Lena to his phone.
It was a shot showing just a bit of her profile.
"You wouldn't believe it! Some mercenaries tried to kill me today, and she alone took on over twenty of them. Quick and deadly accurate, she must be some sort of assassin or secret agent..."
