Once they had left Uncle Jeb and the dogs in Virginia they had contacted Gibbs, who had arranged for a CIA-owned private jet to get them across the border into Mexico. The private jet was a bonus. It speeded up their journey considerably and it also made it easier for them to take their personal weapons with them into Mexico.
