"Damn it, Robin is drunk, crying, and shouting your name, saying she has to see you. No one could drag her away."
Jason hastily tossed clothes to me, ran back to the living room, and brought a bottle of painkillers.
"Alina, can you just take these and bear with it for a bit? It's probably just a minor stomach bug. I'll settle things with Robin and come right back to take you to the hospital."
The pain made my vision blur with stars. Trembling, I reached out and grabbed him. "I'm in so much pain, please, take me to the hospital."
But with eerie calm, he pulled his sleeve from my grasp. "Alina, I'll get down on my knees and apologize to you later if I have to, but right now I must go to her. I swore that whenever she needs me, I'll be there."
