*Ophelia POV*
"And then, Crystal started full snoring! I thought Ms. Gulios eyes would pop out of her head." Ophelia retold the tale from last week of a fellow student falling asleep during lecture. The two girls laughed heartily as they walked out of the cafe, enjoying two overly sweet coffee concoctions. The smile though froze on Ophelia's face, Grace's follow up question becoming mere buzzing in the background. When she looked up she had immediately spotted the blazing red hair of her mother, her face absolutely horrified. Then she slowly came into realization of two absurdly handsome men staring at her. Hard staring. Unabashed, unwavering, stares. But she didn't recognize either of them. "Cece?" She finally managed to find her voice, breaking the spell as the gorgeous blonde suddenly started striding towards them. Her mother noticed and started yelling at him to stop, only to fall on apparently deaf ears.
"I don't know them. But they don't feel right Lia!" Grace muttered harshly, grabbing her friends shirt sleeve. "Let's go!" The slender girls alarm bells was screaming in her head. She didn't know who or what they were but every fiber of her being wanted to run. The only thing keeping her was her rooted ginger friend.
Ophelia swallowed harshly, vaguely feeling the urge to run. She would have heeded her friends advice too if the blonde didn't feel like a magnet. Besides. She was Ophelia Ellen Contrare! She had no magic and she had no fear. So she lifted her chin, straightened her back and stared evenly back at the approaching men.
"My name is Kaine. Who...are you?" He was direct, only coming to a stop a mere few feet from them. The question could have been to either of the women, however the way he stared transfixed on the ginger left no room for Grace.
The dark haired man fidgeted uncomfortably beside him. "You can't!" He hissed under his breath, eyes flashing between the pair.
Kaine...Kaine...Kaine. She knew that name. Why did she know that name? She lifted a brow curiously. "Ophelia. Can I help-"
"Alpha Kaine!" Esmeralda's voice was sharp, it was angry, and she all but shoved her small frame right in-between the Alpha and her daughter. "Need I remind you, YOU are a guest. Here on the good will of myself and the council? You are to review the area and then leave, not interrogate my people."
The young daughter felt her face pale. Grace's hand now began to tremble on her arm. Alpha. She said Alpha. As in a werewolf. As in THE werewolf who was actively planning on throwing them all into a deadly war. The very leader of the Eclipse Moon! f**k f**k fuckity f**k. She screamed in her head. She was expecting some creepy hunchback freak, not a runway model as the Alpha!
"She has your scent on her... And your hair color... She's related to you isn't she?" The blonde ignored both his partner and Esmeraldas' cold glare. He never took his eyes off Ophelia, like a beast fixed on his prey. Her stomach began to do flips as she licked her lips nervously. She had never been nervous infront of anyone, but apparently there was a first for everything. "I'm here to inspect everything... That includes everyone, doesn't it?" He finally responded to the irate woman, eyes now focused on the wet lips.
He looked positively starving, like he'd gobble her up. Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.
