Chapter5:SecretsRevealed

Serena’s heart pounded as she saw Damon step into the moonlight; his face was an expression of confusion, hurt and anger. She instinctively took a step back, consumed by fear and anxiety. "Damon," she began, trying to steady her trembling voice. "Who was that?" Damon’s voice was cold, demanding. Serena hesitated, knowing this moment had come sooner than she’d prepared for. "That was Marcus. He's an acquaintance.” Her voice was still jittery. “An acquaintance?” Damon said, fuming, his eyes narrowing. "I heard everything, Alina—or should I say Serena? What are you plotting? Who are Evan and Mira. Who are you?” Damon asked Serena a barrage of questions. “Damon, please let's go back to the house. I promise I'll explain everything.” Serena said, pleading with Damon. “No! You will explain everything right here and now.” Damon barked, he looked fierce and scary. Serena had never seen him this way. She couldn't risk incurring his wrath, who knew what he might do. Serena took a deep breath, deciding it was time for the truth. “My name is Serena, not Alina,” Serena began. “I was the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack in the neighboring town.” “You're from the Silver Moon Pack?” Damon interrupted. “Ye..ees, I was.” Serena stuttered. “Evan was my mate and Mira was my best friend. One fateful day, I discovered Evan was cheating on me with Mira. I decided I couldn't be around them and decided to leave the Pack. Serena felt tears building up in her eyes as she narrated the story. Even now, she still felt hurt and angry whenever she remembered. She took some time to pause and wipe off the tears before proceeding with her story. “ I decided to inform them of my decision, but they couldn't risk me exposing them. The last thing I remembered was being injected with Wolfsbane. I blanked out, and when I woke up, I was surprised to find myself in this body.” Damon listened attentively as Serena spoke. He was angry he had been deceived, but he also felt some sympathy for Serena as she narrated her ordeal. What had happened to Alina? He had heard tales of Wolves being reborn, but he had always thought of them as fables. Damon had several questions hovering around in his head. “I find this hard to believe,” Damon said, after some moments of silence. How is it possible you woke up in Alina's body? What happened to Alina? She had fallen seriously ill, and I thought she had gotten better. If you are who you say you are, what happened to her?” Damon asked. “And how do I know you're saying the truth, and this wasn't planned? You're from a rival pack; how am I sure you didn't orchestrate this to take my mate, the Luna, and try to spy on us? How can I trust you?” Damon asked a barrage of questions. “Honestly, I do not know. I promise I'm telling the truth, this isn't a scheme. This is also very strange to me. I'm still trying to figure out what is happening.” Serena admitted. “I had noticed something was off with you, I just couldn't place a finger on it. Why didn't you reply to me sooner? Why did you choose to deceive me, to deceive the pack? Why did you make me believe you were Alina?” Damon asked. “I'm sorry, I was confused and scared, Damon. I didn’t know if I could trust anyone. But I see now that keeping this from you was a mistake. Please, believe me. Damon looked away, his thoughts racing. He let out a big sigh before speaking. “I honestly don't know what to do with all this information. I'll need some time before deciding my next step, but one thing is certain. I'm not keeping this from the pack. I owe Alina that much; if she is gone, we have to honor her demise.” “I understand.” Serena said in a solemn voice. The next day, Damon called an emergency meeting. The pack members gathered quickly, curious and concerned as to what the meeting could be about. An emergency meeting was only called in times of war or when something tragic had taken place. Damon stood before them, his expression serious. "I have something important to share with you all. It's about Alina—our Luna. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that she is no longer with us.” Murmurs of confusion spread through the crowd. Damon raised a hand to silence them. "Please, listen. The woman before you is not Alina. Her real name is Serena, and she comes from our rival pack, the Silver Moon Pack.” Gasps of shock echoed around the room. Damon continued, his voice steady. "She was betrayed and killed and somehow, she woke up in Alina's body. She has been living among us, trying to find a way to protect herself and, now, to protect us.” The pack members exchanged stunned glances. Kiera stepped forward. "Damon, how can we trust her? How can we trust she isn't here to spy on us?” Damon sighed, “ I know we can trust her, and as your Alpha, you'll have to trust me with this decision. Serena has the same motive as us as she was betrayed by her pack. She has inside knowledge of Evan and Mira's plans. We need her to help us prepare for the battle that's coming.” Serena stepped forward, her heart pounding. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking. "Evan and Mira have been leading the Silver Moon Pack with an iron fist. They are cruel and won't hesitate to come after the Blood Moon Pack once they know I'm here. We need to be ready. I can help you understand their strategies and weaknesses. Together, we can stand a chance.” Many of the Pack members were still sceptical, but they decided to trust their Alpha and follow his lead. Damon looked at Serena, his eyes softening. "I will help you get your revenge on Evan and Mira. We will stand together.” Serena felt grateful and determined. "Thank you, Damon. I promise I won't let you or the pack down." Damon nodded, turning back to the pack. "Prepare yourselves. Train harder than ever before. We have a battle ahead of us, and we need to be ready.”
