Chapter4:Newbonds

Serena almost froze with shock. Who was this man? And how could he recognize her in a different body? How did he know her name? How had he tracked her here? And what did he know about her past? Her mind flitted between different questions. "I don’t know who you are," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "You must be mistaken." The stranger’s eyes narrowed, and he stepped closer. "You can’t fool me. I know who you are, Serena. And I know what happened to you.” Serena was fidgeting now, her heart was racing. "Who are you?” She asked in a petrified voice. The stranger’s gaze softened slightly. "My name is Marcus. I was a friend of your father’s. I’ve been tracking you ever since you disappeared." "How did you find me?" Serena asked, getting increasingly confused. Marcus smiled. "Your spirit called out to me. I followed the trail of your energy until I found you.” Serena had heard of werewolves with some magical abilities, such as the ability to communicate with the spirit world, but she had never come across them until now. He must be one of the werewolves with that rare ability. “I know what happened to you, and I know that Evan and Mira are behind your disappearance. I’m here to protect you, like i promised your father before he died. I also know you must be seeking revenge on them and I'm here to help you.” Serena was caught in two minds. She wasn't sure if she could completely trust this stranger, but she also felt relief knowing she wasn’t alone. She had an ally, someone who understood her pain and her quest for revenge. "We need to be careful," she said, her voice firm. "Damon and the Blood Moon Pack can’t know the truth about me. Not yet.” Marcus nodded. "I understand. But we need to act swiftly. Many in the pack are discontent with the way Evan is leading the pack. He has been oppressive and is swift to squash even the smallest objection to him. He needs to be stopped. “ Marcus said. Serena thought deeply, her hands stroking her chin. “We need to plan this carefully, “ she said after a while. Nobody here knows the truth about me, and I need to keep it that way for the time being. Until I can gain the trust of the pack here.” Marcus gave a light nod, “That is fine, but remember, the longer you wait, the more hold Evan has over the pack and the more difficult it'll be to defeat him and Mira.” "Meet me here tomorrow night," she said as she looked around stealthily. "We need to plan this carefully." Marcus nodded. "I’ll be here. And Serena, stay safe.” Serena watched as Marcus disappeared into the night. She turned back towards the pack house, she was glad she finally had an ally who was also interested in taking Evan down. It made her quest for revenge all the easier. But she knew she had to be careful, one step out of place, and she risked being found out. She couldn't afford that. The next day, Serena continued her training with the warriors. She trained really hard, and some members of the Blood Moon Pack were motivated by how hard their Luna trained. She formed bonds with key members of the Blood Moon Pack. There was Kiera, a fierce warrior with a sharp mind and a loyal heart. Kiera quickly became Serena’s confidante. Then there was Leo, a skilled tracker and strategist, whose calm demeanor and keen instincts made him invaluable. Together, they formed a close-knit group. They were very loyal to their Luna, and through them, Serena learned a lot about the pack. Serena focused on learning their techniques and strategies, all the while keeping an eye out for any signs of suspicion. Damon was attentive and caring, but Serena kept her distance, wary that getting too close might expose her. "You seem different," he said one evening as they were together , his eyes searching hers. "Ever since the illness you have been acting quite differently. You train harder, and you've become distant. Are you sure everything is fine?” Damon asked, concern evident on his face. Serena hesitated. She couldn't afford to let Damon suspect anything, not yet. "Just focused on becoming stronger," she said, forcing a smile. "I want to be the best Luna I can be.” Damon nodded, but his eyes remained watchful. "You’re already an incredible Luna, Alina. Just remember, you’re not alone. You can talk to me about anything.” Serena nodded, but her mind was elsewhere. She had to stay focused on her goal. She couldn’t let anything distract her from taking down Evan and Mira. The next night, Serena met with Marcus again at the agreed location. She looked around to make sure she wasn't being followed by anyone. “We need to start making concrete plans on how to take down Evan and Mira,” Marcus said. “Yes, I agree. What do you have so far?” Serena asked. “I've started gathering the support of some disgruntled members of the pack who are ready to fight alongside me in taking down Evan,” Marcus said. “That's very good. Do we have enough people on the ground?” Serena asked. “Well, some members of the pack are hesitant about rebelling against their Alpha, and they might need more convincing, but I'm on it.” “Just be careful so Evan doesn't find out about this scheme, or else our plan will be ruined.” “ I'm also working on earning the trust of some valuable members of the pack here, so we will have more than enough allies when the time comes.” “That's good, we'll need all the allies we can get to take Evan and Mira down. “ Marcus said, before leaving. "Serena?" Serena heard her name as soon as Marcus left. Serena turned to see Damon, his eyes filled with shock and betrayal. He had been lurking, listening to every word of her conversation with Marcus.
