Chapter 20 Beltane‘I understand you make good griddle bread, Boudicca. Would you cook some for me?’ ‘But I... I don’t have a griddle,’ she replied. Such a strange question, totally unexpected, made her jump and respond involuntarily. Trapped, as she currently was, inside her own manic world where nothing seemed permanent or trustworthy, the question itself did not seem quite so odd. Gradually, the last few lunar cycles had taught her not to be surprised any more at anything which happened in her dreamlike life. Thus it was that only after the words had left her mouth did she look around for the questioner.
