Chapter 4

He didn't know when he started to smile because of how effective his blackmailing had worked on the CEO of Flaminghearts. Draven wished he could see the look on Anna's face currently but he was too far from Knockway to see that. It was a pity that such a beautiful woman would be thrown out like that. He thought of her scent that caught his attention in the airport and a curse suddenly left his lips. Draven rose from his seat and dashed out of the room like hell was about to break loose. ======== She rubbed her hands together after walking a mile away from where she was thrown. Rather than looking lost or mad that she had been treated this way in a place she hardly knew her way around, Anna's expression was rather calm and rational. Her manager was not here meaning she came here solo. So, she had to find her way back. Annalisa didn't cuss her luck or try to pull her hair from the root. If there was something one noticed it was the unusual way she kept walking. Her heart started to constrict in pain and she paused on her steps. She wanted to check her handbag until she recalled that she was thrown out of the car without any of her belongings following her. "Damn it..." This was the first time she had to curse out, and it surprised her. Anna thought that everything was going to be alright until she noticed not even her cellphone was with her at the moment. That woman who led her to the limo had foolishly forgotten about her belongings. Annalisa snorted. At least that would give her a way to locate them since she never left her things without a tracker in them. Or no... that would be a way for her company in Stormont to get alerted. Sigh... And here she was, almost bothered by how she was going to survive. Still, she needed her pills. Anna stopped on her steps when she realized that her ears picked up sounds. She turned her head in the direction it came from but saw nothing. "Maybe I was overthinking it?" She scratched her temple before turning back to focus on her journey. Annalisa seemed completely different from the woman everyone saw at the airport. She knew that everyone might think of her as an arrogant person, so she never minded. She was beyond caring about the opinions of people. Another sound was heard and she stopped on her step again. Anna turned around on a whim and her green eyes narrowed in on the darkness that was creeping in. She could feel the presence of a person. "Come out now... while I'm being nice." Her voice went some registers lower as she said this. Anna took k careful and light step toward the darkness. She wanted to take another step but the person who kept following her revealed himself. "Mommy?" He called out startling the woman. Anna's eyes grew wide in horror as they fell on the five-year-old kid standing some meters away from her. What left her more surprised was the fact he addressed her as his mother. "It's a kid, you scaredy cat!" She whispered to herself before drawing closer to the child that was about to reach her stomach. Tilting her head slightly, she looked down at the boy and cleared her throat. "Uh... You. Why are you not home by this time?" Was that the question she was to ask a kid? Anna was uncertain. She bit her lip, a habit she did whenever she had no idea of how to control a situation. "Save me, Mommy." The child ran to hug her making her eyes grow wider. Huh... Whose Mommy? She wasn't even married! "You... Let go of me." She never intended to hurt the kid that was why she said it in a gentle voice. Annalisa never knew she had a maternal part of her, it stunned her. She could feel him squeeze her waist as he buried his face in her flat stomach. This was trouble. She had nowhere to go and now she had to deal with a homeless kid who mistook her for his mother. Great... Just great. "Who are your parents? Look here, where do you live?" Her hands went to grab his shoulder and she tried to pull him away from her as possible. But he would not budge. The little boy had the strength of a full-grown man, and it astounded her to the core. "Look here, please let go." She grunted as she tried to pull his arms away from her waist. "They'll take me if you leave me here." He raised his head from her stomach and pouted his lips. The child spoke in a voice that sounded as if he was about to break down in tears. Oh... Yikes! "Who...?" Annalisa's curiosity got the best of her, despite debating inside of her never to ask him that question. The moment she asked that question, multiple footsteps were heard ahead of them. The little boy suddenly turned from Anna before focusing his eyes on the shadows that were approaching them. Annalisa thought she heard a growl from him, so she c****d her head to the side with a questioning look in her eyes. The boy growled again, pushing the woman back along with him as those shadows kept getting closer. Anna couldn't help but be worried. Why was he growling? _____ Just when he was about to make another call, he was interrupted by his Delta again. Eric had stormed into the office like the world would end if he never made it there, on time. His barging in only caused the Alpha to be annoyed. "Alpha..." "Another person who requests to be headless." He deadpanned as he threw a glare at Eric. The latter could only ignore his words and shove the phone that was on the loudspeaker. "Daddy?" A soft shaky voice called out in urgency and the man's face softened. He grabbed the phone before rising from the desk to speak to his daughter. "What's wrong, Rosie?" "Daddy... Ryan g-got kidnapped." The girl stuttered at the other end. One could hear her voice breaking down as a sob could be heard. Meanwhile, Draven's cell phone cellphone tightened. His knuckles turned white as those words registered themselves in his ears. Ryan... that rebellious pup of his... Got kidn*pped!?!? Eric could only take some steps back as he noticed that the Alpha's eyes started to turn a shade of crimson. He had heard of the news and thought it would be better to have the Alpha hear of this himself. Who would think this only aggravated the situation?
