[Blair's POV]
[Bullock Pack]
"I can't believe this, Blair," my father, Jason Bullock, Alpha of Bullock Pack, yelled at me.
“Daddy, please listen to me.”
“At least give me a chance to explain, the moon goddess chose him for me.”
"I can't believe, Blair, you would betray our pack like this."
I cried, sitting on my knees and holding my father's hand and begging him, but he shook my hand as if I dirtied his hands.
He was trying to get away so I wouldn't touch him, but I grabbed onto his foot and begged him once again.
I looked at my mother, who is the Luna of the pack.
“Mom, please ask Dad to not abandon me,” I said in the most pitiful voice I could muster, but my mother just shrugged her shoulders.
Tears fell on my face while holding onto his shoe, pleading with him.
"It's him or us, decision is yours,” my dad said, making a decision.
I was being punished because I mated with Alpha Johnson Galler, Alpha of Moon Pearl Pack, instead of someone else.
He wants me to mate any Alpha but Johnson. But I have been with him for about four years and dated for two years, and now I am his mate.
How can a father want his daughter to go through the pain of rejection?
“Blair, you already know what we want from you,” my mom spoke for the very first time.
“You have to reject Alpha Johnson and mate anyone if you want your dad to talk to you. He is from Moon Pearl Pack. And they are our enemies.”
“But he loves me, Dad. He is kind and caring, and he makes me happy,” I protested.
"Love? This is not about love, it's about loyalty. You have chosen to align yourself with our enemies, and I cannot allow that to continue," my father insisted.
I felt tears welling up again in my eyes and my wolf howled.
I couldn't believe that my parents were asking me to leave Alpha Johnson, the man I loved, for someone I never met.
“I understand where you're coming from, Mom and Dad. But he is a good wolf. He has a big heart. He treats me with respect and makes me feel loved. That's all that matters to me,” I felt her voice trembling.
My parents exchanged a look of disappointment.
“Blair, we just want what's best for you. He is not a good wolf, he never loved you. He just wants to attack our pack and for that he will use you,” my father said.
"I just want you to suffer with rejection rather than guilt. I know you can't live with that."
I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself.
“I appreciate your concern, but I have to follow my heart. Alpha Johnson is the one I would like to spend my life with. I hope you can understand and accept my decision.”
“So is this your last decision?” my dad asked, taking a deep breath.
I nodded.
My dad stood up, looked down on me for the first time.
“You can leave this pack house and the dream of becoming Alpha of Bullock Pack.”
I cried, clutching tightly onto his leg while begging him.
“At least meet him once, Dad, he is not a bad guy... I am sure you will also start liking him... He is really a nice wolf... Dad… Dad…please… Just once…”
But he left without another word.
The door slammed, and I sat on my knees and hugged myself tightly.
I never wanted him to leave my life. I really love them, but I also love Alpha Johnson.
If he were here, he would tell me that all was good and to stop crying. But I had stopped him from coming here because I thought I would convince my parents.
“Blair, we love you,” my mom stood up and came to me.
“You are our only child, we never wanted to hurt you. However, Alpha Johnson...”
She tried to explain, but I didn't understand anything. I was blind in love.
“Johnson never loved you. He is after our pack,” she said in a soft tone while stroking the back of my hair.
“See, one day he will attack us through you. You are just a tool for him, not love.”
She murmured softly before pulling away.
"Now come on, it's dinner time, and don't stress out, we will soon prepare the divorce papers and send the court notice to him."
I nodded.
She got up and started walking but stopped after two steps.
“Don't forget we love you, and our decision is a good choice for you.”
I saw her leaving the room.
My whole body started to shake slightly, and it became hard for me to breathe.
I went to my room, where I cried for hours.
I never thought that I would have to make such a decision in my life, where I would have to choose between my parents and Alpha Johnson to live with.
I felt like someone broke my soul.
No matter what I do, there always has to be a middle ground.
It was unfair, and it made me feel so weak.
I wiped my tears and packed my bags.
I made the most painful yet important decision of my life.
Leaving my parents was difficult, and I wished I could stay behind in my parents' pack house forever.
I would rather not move out, but I can't live without Alpha Johnson.
I knew it was selfish and immature, but I couldn't live without him.
"Once again, think about your decision, Blair," I heard my mother's voice behind me.
"Don't go like this. You will only bring a threat to our pack. If this happens, we will never save you."
I closed my eyes and kept walking.
I would rather not get emotionally blackmailed.
"I believe in the moon goddess's decision," I calmed myself.
"It's okay, let her be," I heard my father stop my mother.
"Let her learn the value of parents and pack. It's important for her."
"Don't say it like that," my mother pleaded. "She will become a rogue, like this."
My dad remained silent.
When I stepped outside, it was raining heavily, and people were rushing through the streets, running from one place to the next.
Cars honked loudly while some people walked fast, but no one looked bothered by it as they kept on their way with umbrellas over their heads.
I felt sad about leaving my home behind, but now I know why people say that “when the going gets tough, the staying is tougher.”
I started waiting for the cab, standing on the side of the road.
Due to the rain, it was difficult to find one, and I was drenched all the way.
I was wearing only a hoodie, but I still managed to catch a cold from the chilly weather.
I decided to continue walking so I could find the cab on my way.
After some time, I finally got one and reached the bus station.
As I got off the bus, I couldn't see anything due to the weather.
And I couldn't wait for another cab in the pouring rain, so I decided to walk the rest of the way.
The rain was coming down harder now, soaking me to the bone. I could feel the water seeping into my shoes and my hair plastered to my face.
Finally, after what felt like hours of walking, I reached Alpha Johnson's pack house, but now it's our pack house.
I knocked on the door, shivering and dripping wet.
Beta Daniel opened the door, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of their Luna.
I ignored his gaze and went to my room.
“Blair, what happened? You're soaked!” Alpha Johnson exclaimed, pulling me inside and wrapping me in a warm towel.
I explained how my parents didn't agree on their mating, and I left their pack house in this heavy rain.
Alpha Johnson shook his head in disbelief but then smiled warmly at me.
"You're crazy, how can you leave your pack house in this rain? But I'm glad you're here. Let's get you warmed up and dry."
