~Devereux~
Her figure vanished into the crowd in the hall, and I quickly jerked up. If she was done cleaning up, wasn't she supposed to come meet me here?
“Alpha,” one of the strippers I had paid for, tried to hold me down. “Our time isn't off.”
But I only gave her a side look and passed by the long table.
“Is she that important to you? Didn't you say she was just some female like others?” Alpha Gabe tried to pull my attention.
I didn't care. I owed no one an explanation.
Amid the crowd, I made way for myself, shifting everybody I came across, my head spun as I thought of where she could have gone to.
Until I left the building entirely, I didn't catch a glimpse of her figure. I had sucked her blood so that I could feel her bond since her wolf rank was unpredictable, but it was nowhere near.
I reached the car only to see the guards standing like nothing had happened. My eyes darted from one corner to the other.
“Alpha!”
I quickly turned to meet my beta, Andrea, staring at me like I was lost but found. “Where is she? She left…I watched her vanish but I wasn't fast enough. Her wolf was in distress when she took off so it wasn't like she quietly left the hall to get air outside.”
As I spoke, I walked towards him.
“Honestly, I didn't see a glimpse of her,” Andrea stated, and I knew he was telling the truth.
I turned to the guards and they also shook their heads.
“And what are you all waiting for instead of searching for her? You want those thugs to hurt her?” My voice rose at each word.
Before I blinked, the guards had all dispersed into different directions. I turned back to Andrea, my gaze narrowed, “A lady stopped her while she was coming. I didn't get a clearer view of her face, so find out who she was.”
He bowed and took his leave as well.
I looked at my watch…it was almost the middle of the night, and I should be leaving back to the palace in a few hours to come.
Then did I recall….my knife which I had unsheathed.
What if she went back to that room?
Having thought of that, I hastily made a move, taking the shortest route into the building that would lead me to the room. As I entered it, it was f*****g empty….with no single soul.
My gaze landed on the ground, at the exact position where we had stood and gotten pleasured, and there lay my knife. I bent and picked it up, sheathed it, and slid it at the back of my trousers.
I made my way into the restroom but didn't even sense her a bit.
My wolf growled at me, and furs covered my skin before I could think of my next move.
I hurried away from the room, taking any single way I saw, enabling my wolf to take over me a bit so I could sense her wolf….that way, I could find her faster if the other men hadn't. But after several minutes…almost an hour, she was nowhere to be found. I doubted she was still around.
Where could she be? Did she decide to run away like I said earlier? Then I'd probably skin her alive and watch her shed tears.
I finally dashed towards the car, my beta and guards were already gathered.
“She is nowhere around…..” Andrea stated. “I checked the footage and didn't find her around. The lady who approached her was Shirley.”
My fingers curled into a fist.
Shirley! That b***h!!
Didn't I warn her not to interfere in my life? She was nothing but a mistress to me…more like a submissive. What business does she have with Eleanor?
“Is there a way to find out what they talked about?” I asked Andrea, my breath came ragged and harsh.
He shook his head. “I'm not sure.”
I looked around one more time and took a hard gulp, “Let's leave. I have to find that slut.”
Before they could even react, I hopped into the car, my eyes watery.
She wasn't that important, but I didn't know why I needed her by any means. Okay, let's assume I just need to find her and punish her, for she is my property and has no right to slip through my fingers.
“Come on dude, hit the throttle.” I yelled at Andrea and he nodded.
The car sped off, like we were in a race.
The simplest way for me to find her was by her scent…by our bond. Even though she was worthless to me, my wolf needed her.
“Alpha, I don't have any destination in mind to find her.”
“I'm doing the finding. Leave that to me.” I snapped at him, my fingers tapping on the car seat.
Minutes elapsed, yet we were still on the road, diverting from one place to another.
“Don't you think she would be in the club? She probably knows nowhere around the pack.” Andrea hit the brakes forcefully and turned to me. “We've reached the dead end.”
My lips opened and closed.
The sneering of my wolf and my aura pulled Andrea’s head to the car steering.
I sighed, “Turn around….fast.”
He did as I ordered, his fingers rotating on the car steering wheel.
My heart thumped harder. Why the heck was I even scared of losing her?
Almost close to the club again, her scent hit my nostrils.
Andrea was right. She had been in the club. But why couldn't I sense her? Was it still her stupid wolf? But I did bond with us… didn't I?
“Found her. Park!”
As he marched the car brake, I alighted from the car instantly.
Her scent clouded my nostrils, taking away the air around me. I traced her by her it, moving back from where we came from…only to find this woman sitting on the ground, her legs curled up.
I hated that she was sobbing. Those tears on her cheeks struck me like lightning.
“Slut, what the heck are you doing here when I came with you?”
As she heard my voice, she jolted to her feet and quickly wiped her face.
“I asked you a question. Do you know the stress you had just caused me? Are you nuts?” Before she could speak, I dragged her by the arm towards the car. “There are certain punishments that would suit people like you.”
“Alpha, I'm sorry.”
Was that for me? Hadn't she heard how merciless I am? I have no business with that word she just said.
“It's my wolf. I'm sorry.”
I drew the car door open and pushed her in. “Back to the palace…” I commanded and put on the seat belt.
My eyes landed on her teary face. The more she wiped it the tears were streaming down.
While my wolf whimpered at her presence, my chest clenched in anger. I wanted to rip her apart, to let her know how useless her gender is to me…to make her understand that no one stresses me and doesn't get the pain back in folds.
As the car was parked in the palace garage after several minutes of driving, I hurled her off the car, taking her into the building.
She was still sobbing, sniffling consistently….but I didn't care.
As I entered my room, I pushed her into the bed.
She quickly pulled out her heels and got to her knees. “Please, forgive me. I lost my senses. I wasn't supposed to feel jealous…”
But those words passed by my ears. All I craved at that moment was to hear her painful groans from my whip…to see the red marks from my whip on her body.
