Chapter Seven Selected interns are to be in the front cabin for launch. I’ve been chosen as one of them. I leave Dad and Neath in an upper side compartment and make my way to the front. Once there, we are seated on the lower deck, before a wide viewing screen. After strapping in, we are taken through a safety drill, in which we are shown what to do in case of issues during or after launch. I find it hard to listen to the android and my mind drifts, or maybe I just know I won’t be needing any of the safety instructions and just choose to conserve my mind. The lecture winds up and we are told to wait for launch.
