Chapter Fifteen Blood drips from my fingertips and pools on the white floor of the Red Vipers’ ship. My recent travels across planes has resulted in too much energy being drawn in through my fingers, rendering them torn. But my injuries are trivial. Cal, slumped beside me, is chequered in black bruises from a pummelling I’m glad I didn’t witness. Just thinking about it makes me ill. Most disconcerting is the way his swollen arm dangles.
