Stephanie’s POV: When I finished eating, I went back to my room since there was nothing else to occupy my time. I grabbed a book from the small stack on my desk and settled onto my bed, allowing myself to sink into the soft mattress. My body sprawled across the bed as I began to read. At least, I tried to read. The words blurred on the pages, refusing to stick in my mind. My thoughts wandered, drifting to places I didn’t want them to go—specifically, from one brother to another.
