I could see the expression on his face. His body stiffened, and his eyes betrayed surprise and discomfort. Did he really think I couldn’t do it? The thought stung more than I cared to admit. He hurt me, and if this was the way to hurt him back, I wouldn’t hesitate. He shouldn’t expect anything from me anymore.
