Wilson became cold immediately, although the weather was hot. He withdrew and maintained distance, covering his face with his hands, bending down.
"Why are you angry all of a sudden?" Olive asked intentionally—she wanted to know his reaction.
"You're asking why I'm angry? You're not serious," Wilson responded pitifully, getting up like an orphan. He started moving toward his bedroom when someone hugged him from behind.
"I don't like you because that's an understatement. I cherish you with everything in me, Wilson. I really love you," Olive confessed, hugging him.
Strong chemistry flowed through them. Wilson's burning heart quenched immediately. He turned around and faced her. To his surprise, Olive made the first move. She kissed him passionately—establishing a new relationship immediately.
"What is going on here?" Sonia appeared from nowhere, throwing the question at them.
It was as if the world was about to end. Olive hastily withdrew, covering her mouth. The clothing of shame immediately enveloped her. Wilson, on the other hand, wiped his mouth and faced his daughter.
"My angel, nothing's going on. Have you finished what you were doing?" He asked, squatting down and touching her cheeks.
"Dad, please don't change the topic. I just saw something I was not supposed to see. What did you do with my caring mum?" She remained persistent.
"We didn't do anything, sweetheart. I was just whispering an important idea in her ears—I didn't want another person to hear it. Yes, that's what happened," Olive explained, surprised herself—she hadn't thought before speaking.
"Yes, my love. Nothing else happened." Wilson concurred with her.
"That's not true, Dad. I clearly saw both of you kissing romantically. Your hands were on her waist and her hands were around your neck. Am I not right?" Sonia hit the nail on the head.
Olive and Wilson glanced at each other, employing silence in the room. Sonia looked at them—they couldn't utter a word.
"Are you still trying to deny the obvious?" She asked, giving them an offensive look.
"No, darling. The thing is that..." As Olive tried to beat around the bush, Wilson agreed with his daughter.
"We're sorry for trying to deceive you—you're right. Your mum and I kissed, but the truth is, she kissed me first."
"Mum, why did you kiss him?" Sonia asked, channeling her attention on her.
"That's because... It's because..." Olive couldn't finish. Wilson helped her out.
"...she confessed her feelings for me. She said she loves me wholeheartedly," he reported, laughing at Olive intensely.
"What! Mum, explain yourself. How dare you love my dad?" Sonia asked, pretending to be angry—but deep inside, she was unimaginably happy.
"Your father is hiding the essential part from you," she stated, running toward Wilson. When she reached him, she beat him on his back and continued:
"He's the one who confessed first and even tried to force himself on me because he thought I turned him down."
"Oh my God. Dad, is that true?" Sonia asked—she never expected her dad to do such a thing.
"Yes, my angel. I love your mum so much. Her beauty is captivating, her attitude mind-blowing. I see her in our future. She has captured my heart," Wilson said, looking at Olive with sexy eyes—love written all over. The situation escalated to the zenith when Wilson slowly touched her cheeks—it was as if chilled water was poured on her.
"Enough, you adults! Aren't you aware you're not behaving responsibly right now? You're in front of a child, for crying out loud." Sonia teased them.
"That's right. Stop touching me with those hands of yours—soft as a woman's," Olive said, disengaging from Wilson. She faced Sonia and addressed her:
"I'm sorry if it displeases you that your dad and I are harboring romantic feelings. If you want me to leave him, I'll leave with immediate effect."
"What do you mean..." Wilson wanted to ask, becoming aggressive at the statement, before Sonia interrupted.
"Mum, I am very happy. This is what I've been waiting for. Why did it take you so long to discover your feelings for each other? I pray every night for God to unite you." She revealed her opinion, taking them away.
"Then why act as if you don't like us together?" Olive asked.
"I was just teasing you. I didn't mean any of that—just joking. I can't believe Dad also took it seriously," Sonia answered. Silence prevailed again. Shortly, Sonia asked a silly question:
"Dad, Mum, when should I expect my younger siblings?"
This made Olive very shy—she covered her face. Wilson answered:
"Very soon, my angel."
The family embraced each other and attended to their duties.
One Sunday evening, Wilson took Olive and Sonia on a date to a luxury hotel. As they ate, Sonia inquired:
"Dad, when did you begin to see Mum as a woman? Please answer truthfully."
Wilson stopped eating, dropped his spoon and fork, and attended to the question.
"I started loving her when she aided me in disciplining you. My feelings grew when she became my personal assistant—we did many things together. I finally realized it was love when she got broken up because of that stupid ex-boyfriend who didn't deserve her." He voiced out, holding her hands tightly.
Meanwhile, Olive paused, submerging him with her looks. Then Sonia asked her:
"What about you, Mum?"
Olive hesitated before answering. Wilson became super attentive.
"Well, I became into him when he employed me in his company. I loved how hardworking and caring he was to his staff," she answered.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Wilson asked.
"Are you seriously asking me that? I wasn't courageous enough, and you were very busy and occupied. I can't just disturb you with my personal feelings. Besides, you also didn't tell me," she explained, resuming her meal.
"That's true. I was occupied with work then—but not anymore. I'll now create time for my family. I'll make sure we live in peace and harmony. Olive, I'll provide for all your needs and take care of you and your family for the rest of my life," Wilson spoke out, all attention directed to her.
Olive was eaten up by confusion—his words were absurd to her.
"Your speech is not fathomable. What do you mean?" She asked, pushing her food to another corner.
Wilson slowly knelt down, brought out an engagement ring from his pocket, and declared:
"Olive, please marry me."
