TEN JULY 13 Saturday morning was their quiet time. Paul and Beth reserved the morning to eat breakfast together, and then take a walk, sharing about the week they just had finished and what was promised in the week ahead. When Paul came downstairs at 8:00 a.m., Beth was sitting at the kitchen table, staring at her laptop. The newspaper had been dissected and there were sections strewn around the kitchen. “How long have you been up?” Paul asked, looking around the room. “Quite a while.
