Anything and everything that draws attention to my self, I refrain from doing. From a young age I learnt how to keep myself safe from any attention, as attention leads to (1bullying or embarrassment. Due to my size, people treat me different, as if i have no emotions. When in reality I am even more sensitive to hate because of the amount of bullying I had growing up. Many of the students in my college class were also my classmates during high school as our town of 35,000+ residents only had one high school and one college. And strangely no one leaves. Every year everyone who finishes from the high school moves onto the college, doing one of the thousands of courses. Only once in the full 18 years I have been alive has someone not moved onto the college. And only I know the reason… - Flashback OpalPOV (12) - I had one headphone in, listening to my favourite rapper NF, walking down the corridor of my high school. I had only just joined the school after finishing primary school a year early. As a 12 year old student in a class with 13 year olds, in a school with people nearly 18, I was constantly feeling intimidated. This was the day most of my anxiety started. It was the day my life changed completely. I learnt about a whole other world existing within ours. What I learnt scared me, while exited me. I had witnessed something that came from mythology, something that came from a story book, yet it was a reality. Skipping the song I was previously listening to, my Spotify paused, loading an advertisement . And that was when I heard it. A Growl. That Growl shook me, yet it felt so familiar. So I followed it. As I paused my music, I heard shouting coming from one of the math classrooms. I pushed the door open just enough that I could clearly see and hear every word said without being seen. I had gotten pretty good at doing that lately, hiding from the bullies. Inside Calix and his best friend Richard stood in-front of almost all of the female year 11s, who were all kneeling, glaring at them. - Flashback continued from CalixPOV - Richard mind-linked me telling me of a situation involving every single female wolf in my year. And let me tell you, I was furious. A week before I had met my mate for the first time! From the moment we saw each other, she had agreed to join my pack, to become my Luna. I was ecstatic! That was until I had learnt what the she-wolves were planning to do to my mate, their future Luna. All that led me to this. Standing with my future Beta, Richard by my side, I pushed my Alpha power through my voice. They all kneeled, showing their necks in submission, even Kate, but I was way too angry to accept their apology. “Do you know why I am angry?” I shouted, many of the girls flinched, but I carried on. “I have come to learn of what you girls were planning,…” “And what where we planning, Alpha” Kate interrupted me, drawing out my title. Loosing it, I ran to her, pulling her up by her neck from her kneeling position, and dragged her along the floor. Pushing her body against the wall, I growled, not realising that would grab the attention of a human due to my rage. Richard came to my side, trying to stop me doing something I would regret. Alex, my wolf, was fighting for control, it was a loosing fight for me, but I continued to fight against him, in fear that he would kill Kate. Kate whimpered in response to my growl, but I was not having her play the victim. “Don’t play the victim here, Kate. You are responsible for everything that will happen to the she-wolves in this room.” I hissed at her, inches away from her face, her body trembling uncontrollably in fear. “You were so jealous, you would try to kill my mate? Your Luna? Are you really that selfish?” Kate nodded as well she could considering my grip round her throat. I removed my hand so she could speak. “I am sorry Alpha Calix” she mumbled, looking at the floor. I knew she was just trying to please me, she would never willingly apologise. “Turn” I commanded, and she did, transforming into her wolf in-front of all of us. Little did I know, but there was a human watching these events unfold.
