Rising of the Broken Luna

chapter 4

Alpha Gibbs has given me strict orders on meats to do but I can make it how I want to. I'm going to make spinach and pepper Jack cheese stuffed chicken breast, marinated steak, and shrimp. then corn in the cob, baked asparagus, and my special potatoes. thankfully it's only going to be the Alphas, Betas, and Gamma's for dinner. I'm sure Tyler, Maddox, and Dylan to since they are the future. I start with beating the steak with tenderizer, add the seasonings and sauce to marinade it. while it's in the fridge I focus on the chicken and potatoes first since they will take the longest to make. I slice the chicken through the middle and rinse it in cold water. I take the stems off the fresh spinach and stick it in between with slices of cheese then fold it back and cut it in half. I do that till all of it's done and on a baking pan covering it with aluminum foil. I rinse my potatoes and slice them small and fill the next baking pan then add seasoning, a small amount of diced onion, and seasoning salt. I get 2 sticks of butter to put on top and put aluminum foil over it, then stick them in the over to cook for an hr. I rinse the asparagus and chop the ends off then put them on the cookie sheet adding olive oil, parmesan cheese, and garlic. I wrap it will foil and stick in the fridge till it's time to bake. the corn and shrimps last to worry about, so I try to come up with a dessert. while I'm looking around I jump started at seeing Maddox for the first time walk into the kitchen. something's starting to smell good. what are you making? I just stare at him dumb founded for a few minutes. is this a joke or game? you havent talked to me in atleast a year. he frowns as he walks closer, so I step back. I dont know his intentions I dont trust him. his frown deepens. Tay I'm not going to hurt you I'm sorry. I came to wish you a happy birthday and hope we can talk. I cant seem to form words so I just look at him. when I finally figure out how to use my voice all I can ask is did you put me to bed after my attack from Tyler? I couldn't just leave you laying on the floor half naked unconscious Tay. I had to pull him away from you and shove him in his room before I tried to help you. Maddox that the thing why did you help you dont give a flying s**t about me. you turned you back on me, abused me, laughed at me, watched everyone else belittle me and hurt me anyway they could. you didnt care if I died. you blamed me for something that wasnt in my control and I didnt do. nobody wanted my side. I try to hold in the tears but they just seem to keep come flowing. your my brother I lost my parents to and I couldn't even grieve properly. I needed the only family i had left and you turned you back on me. i didnt get to go to the funeral and say my goodbyes, but now all of a sudden your sorry and want to talk after 2 years of me begging and needing you to rescue me. you were my protector, best friend and blood. we promised dad we'd always stand together and have each others backs. so if you expect a lame sorry to make up for all I went through that half of was your doing your wasting your breath. i turn around to check the food expecting him to leave, but he ends up grabbing me and hugging me crying. my body turns stiff and still. I'm so sorry tay. i know sorry not enough and i have alot of begging to do to get you to forgive me, but i will show you I'll be better. when i seen you laying on the ground getting beaten by Tyler knowing he tried to r**e you all i felt was anguish and rage. I'll do anything to earn you trust. i finished your chores that day. I knew it it wasnt done Alpha would come for you. well that answered another question as to why I didnt get bothered that night or the next. he finally releases me and steps back. I am sorry, i know it's not enough and actions speak louder than words so i promise I'm going to do better and earn back my sister. he turns and walks off leaving me with way to many things running through my head. I shake my thoughts and get back to work on dinner. I go in the dining room setting up the nicer dishes then put the wine on ice. I hear the main door open and hear a bunch of people coming in so I add the last touches and head back to finish cooking. the alphas and betas walk past the kitchen and I get a faint smell of musk and sandalwood. I take a deep breath and realise I'm antsy all of a sudden. whatever that smell is I could smell it all day. it's a good manly scent. I fix a cherry and apple pie then stick it in the fridge while grabbing the shrimp and corn. once its started I add the shredded cheese to the asparagus and cook it for 10 more minutes. I grill the steaks and place the chicken and potatoes into a warming container. while the rest of dinner finishes instant placing all the food out. when I'm heading back to grab more and flip the steaks again Tyler walks in and pushes me against the wall. we never got to finish your birthday present. he sticks his head in my neck biting and licking it. I try to push him off only for him to stick his leg between mine. he goes to attract my neck again and my reflexes kick in to fast to realise what I'm doing before it's to late and I head butt him with all my strength. it catches him off guard and he stumbles back only to charge at me as I side set him to the kitchen. you stupid b***h, I'm doing you a favor your mate will never want you. he grabs me by my throat choking me. I'm so sick of not fighting back, so I start clawing at his face digging my nail so far in I can smell his blood and feel it dripping down my fingers. it makes me feel so alive I find myself kicking him in the balls again. he let's go and grabs himself, as he falls i tackle him and start hitting him with everything I have. he throws me off and I land on the ground gasping for air. he gets on top of me and start punching me anywhere he can get ahold of. the next thing I know hes flying through the air and smashes Into the wall. all I hear is a thud sound as I try to get my vision to clear and breath. once i can see clearly i look up to see Maddox beating Tyler up. I told you the last time you attacked my sister I'd end you if you did it again. this s**t ends now. dont look at her, speak to her, dont even breath the same air as she does, and dont ever even think of looking at her again. he send his last blow to Tyler's face and jumps back coming to check my face and neck. Are you ok Tay? s**t that was a dumb question of course you not. where all does it hurt? I jump up and run into the kitchen to see the steaks burnt, shrimps over done and corns mushy. damn-it, now what will I do. I'm in deep s**t and going to face another beating. I hope the potatoes chicken and asparagus will be enough. I place the last of dinner down just as everyone enters the dining room so I hurry to exit. as I'm exiting I smell the amazing smell again, so i turn my head to look at the men and I find one staring at me so hard my heart flutters. i jump started by my wolf screaming mate in my head. i jerk my head up at that and asked her what her name was. well hello my other half, I'm Athena. it feels nice to finally be able to talk to you instead of sitting in the background having to watch everything. I'm so sorry I wasnt able to help you. I tried to take some of the pain from you. I come to with a huge smack to the face. I look up to hear my mate growling and his eyes changing colors from a beautiful vibrant green to black. I quickly duck my head, im sorry Alpha did you ask something? yes you ignorant girl what the hell happened to our dinner and why are you standing around. I didnt speak I didnt know what to say. it wouldnt matter anyways. I'm sorry sir I'll grab what's left right now. I turn to walk away only to be dragged back by my hair. I whimper in pain as it feels like my hairs being ripped out by the roots. I fall to the ground as I'm released only to see my mate beating the Alpha of my pack. I have to stop him or he will kill him. my mate keeps growling with each blow hes giving him. his eyes are completely black, so his wolf's taken over. You dare touch what's mine. you think you are powerful cuz you abuse females. I'll kill you before I ever allow you to touch my mate again. that pulls me out of my fog like state and I rush to him. his beta nods at me, be cautious so he doesnt hurt you for trying to calm him before he realizes it's you. I'm so antsy as I place my hand on his shoulder. the electric shocks freeze us both. I slowly start to massage the tension in his shoulder and when he looks at me I place my hand on his cheek. time freezes everyone, I jump back hearing Alpha Gibba grown and my mate stands up walking towards me. I continue to slowly walk back until I hit a wall. he grabs my hand and the electric shocks start all over again. I shudder and look up at him through my lashes. he moves my hair out of my face and I can see hes trying to hold the rage I see flashing in his eyes as he looks at the damage done to me. what's your name sweetheart. my wolf's urging me to talk to him and telling me to be the brave future luna I'm destined to be. I suck in a sharp breath once I realise what she said. I give myself a pep talk and find myself lightly rubbing my new tattoo as I look in his eyes. my names Talyla Raine and you are? I hear him say my name and cant help the blush and butterfly's I get from hearing him say my name. Alpha Landon Reid Beckett from the night shadow pack. it's a pleasure to meet you my little mate. a smile tugs at my lips and I look down. he brings my face back up to his and leans in like hes going to kiss me. I flinch and start wide eye at him. omg is this really happening. it would be my first kiss, but the timing's all wrong so I turn my head and he kisses my cheek instead. its painful from the swelling and cut I've got. I hiss in pain and he steps back growling making me flinch again. I'm sorry Alpha I didnt mean to upset you. no no sweetheart I couldn't help myself and seeing your face all beat up I should of known better. my wolf Atticus warned me but I couldn't help it. I'm sorry, I give him a small smile and get broke out of the warm bubble we created to see everyone looking at us. his pack members seem happy while mine seem pissed and scared. I look to Maddox and see him smiling. I'm sorry your dinners been ruined. I need to go to my room if you'll excuse me. I run past everyone and that seem to wake Alpha Beckett from his thoughts. he watches her go wanting to stop her, but knowing she needs time he let's her go. he sets his eyes on Alpha Gibbs with a murderous glare. how long have you been abusing my mate. your an alpha your suppose to protect and help your people. I grab him by the throat asking him why should I allow you to live after seeing more than likely not even an ounce of what you've put her through. you weren't the only one that's got her today I seen way more than the smack on her cheek. someone just got done beating the s**t out of her and you will tell me who inflicted pain on my angel. I sling him into the wall while looking at his arrogant son Tyler. he wont be any better he thinks hes mans gift to woman. looking at them both, so who wants to tell me why my mates been getting abused. the future Beta Maddox steps forward. I'm Talylas brother, can we have a few minutes to talk alone with your beta and gamma. i look back to the Alpha and his son their faces show shock and frustration. I look back to Maddox ok let go for a walk. we head out side and he tells me all about their parents death and everything that happened for the last 2 years. I feel myself about to shift and have to tell atticus to calm down. hes going off in my head ready to kill those that harmed my beautiful mate. Maddox finally admits his part in the abuse and I cant be calm anymore. I end up shifting and going straight for his throat. I have tunnel vision and all I see is his blood on my hands. I want to make him feel the pain she did. she must of suffered alot not only did she lose her parent but her brother to. Atticus whines for her pain. mate I want mate landon. I charge towards maddox and my people just watch knowing he deserves it. they back away from me and then im being jumped on and electric shocks are shooting down my wolf's back. I stop at the feeling of my mate laying on me. I hear her crys and Atticus whines again not happy hearing her pain and feeling her tears. he gives me back full control and I shift the flip myself so she lands hard on my chest. she makes a grunt sound and I hear her begging me not to hurt him. I know hes not deserving, but hes the only family I have left. please dont hurt him. i wipe her tears and hold her. shh, it's ok I wont kill him, but he deserves a beating. she looks at me and hiccups, no really hes doing better it's been a while since hes hurt me hes been protecting me as best as he can the last feel times I've been hurt. I growl at that. sweetheart you cant make excuses for him. he doesnt deserve it nor has he earned it. I know, but hes all I have left. 2 wrongs dont make it right and once I'm fully myself again I'll have a sparing match and give him a taste of his own medicine. she sends me a smirk like that the best idea shes thought of today. ok, let's get you inside it's cold out here and you dont have a coat on. she snuggles deeper into me and I feel atticus start to growl in happiness. no I'm warm right here just a few more minutes please. I pull her closer and when she hits my bare chest that's when she realizes I'm naked and shrieks while a blush forms on her face she jumps up only to fall on her butt. she covers her face embarrassed and it make me smile wider. she looks at me through her lashes blush intensifying as she stares. like what you see angel. she turns her head red as a tomato and I cant help but laugh. dont be shy I am yours. a smile tugs at her lips as she bites it. then a high pitched cry leaves her lips. I run to her only to see her fall on her back as she screams. I start to pick her up only for my beta to stop me. I growl and he steps back telling me shes shifting for the first time. dont lift her it will only make it worse. put her head in you lap and rub her hair while saying soothing words to her. the beta takes charge and looks at her brother get me cold towels shes going to heat up while her body changes. Landon rub her arms and shoulder the mates bond with ease some of the pain, but she has to let go and take the pain or it will intensify worse if she refuses to just let her wolf take control. I explain what's going on and tell her I'm going to allow Atticus to take charge to help her wolf move faster and kiss her forehead. dont worry it will be over soon baby, just try to focus on your breathing and let it move at it's own pace. I'm here I got you.
