Bonding

850 Words
Alex It's been two weeks and it seems our bond was now stronger. I was literally her chauffeur. All she had to do was to call and I would be there. She really had a whole lot of things to do; now that she was getting over her condition. I loved the fact that someone needed me, I mean only me to be happy and safe. I let everyone down with my attitude around women but this time round, I will hold Molly right. She will always be mine. Yes my Molly. I got to the car park and saw her at her usual spot waiting for me. I smiled and felt an inner joy. I just can't lose her. No, not for any reason. I will keep Molly to myself. "Alexander what's wrong?" Her question woke me up from my thoughts. Seriously! Did I just think those? Did I just tag her as mine? I managed a smile and started the car . Halfway through the drive, I mustered courage to ask; "Molly will you be busy tomorrow?" "Class ends at 4pm. We both know that." Came Molly. "Tomorrow is a holiday." I replied. "Then I will be working on my project." "Seriously, I just want a day out with you. This is the first time asking for something from you. Please Molly." I said softly. "I will be busy. We both know I have a lot to do before I can complete this project." "If you say so." I said as I turned my attention back to the road. "I won't lie to you, dear friend." I used the brake immediately, thank goodness we had our seat belts on. I turned to face her with all seriousness. "That's the problem. I want to be more than just a dear friend. I want to know you more. Your likes, dislikes, what makes me different. Mol, can't you give me that chance?" What came over me. I didn't plan to say that. What have I done. Our friendship is at stake now. I have never been this frustrated because of a woman. The look on her face was unreadable, pretending nothing happened. I returned to my driving. I just kept wishing she would say a word, just a single word. Her phone rang twice before she answered it. "Hello Ash." She said softly "Hey, Molly. Where are you? Can you come home now?" I heard because it was on speaker. Ashley didn't even give her a chance to answer. "What's wrong?" Came Molly. "Just rush here okay" Ashley's last words before ending the call. Molly looked in my direction and shrugged her shoulders. I forced a smile and kept going. When we got there I expected my usual hug but she just got down and waved. Before I could decide what next Ashley came and pulled her inside. I guess our conversation will be continued on the phone tonight. Molly I was shocked to see how disorganized my cousin's room was. Clothes were scattered everywhere. She looked confused. "Ashley, relax. You don't have to look super hot or whatever you call it tonight. You are beautiful and you don't need any complicated dresses to show it. Just wear the black dress and the gold belt and thank me later." I said and made for the door. I had a lot of thinking to do. And no matter how hard I try to think about different things I end up thinking about Alex and what he said this afternoon. I am still wondering what he meant by wanting to be more than just a dear friend. Right now I need a cold shower and a long sleep. I don't want to be thinking about him all the time. "Molly are you all set for the party?" I heard Ashley shout from her room. Which party? She didn't tell me I was invited. I mean I am not prepared, actually I just can't go. I am tired. She burged into my room and looked at me with a fake angry look on her face. " But you didn't invite me and besides you are just telling me about it. Ashley, I am tired. I need to rest." I said in a low tone pleadingly. "Tired or not, we are rocking this party. There is no school tomorrow. Holidays are for resting, get up and dress for fun. Alex will be there." She said as she sat comfortably on my bed. At this point I knew I couldn't escape this. Ashley just wants me to have fun now that I am a little bit okay to do so. And Alex will be there. I can't miss it. Such parties are too risky for handsome men like him. I don't want any ladies around him. He is all mine. I dressed up quickly and prayered for a good party with no incidents. I also wished I could escape Alex too. What is wrong with me? He is the reason I am going and I don't want to see him. I don't understand myself anymore.
