As fate would have it, I saw him the next day. At the break of dawn, i walk into the room, pushing the door weakly with my shoulders. The door cracked open making noisy. My eyes still heavy with sleep. The room is dim only a fate spark of light passes through the curtains. Stretching my limbs, a yawn escapes my lips. A low growl animalistic makes my ear sharpen. Looking around suspiciously there's no one in the room. Moving towards the sound dumbly, I feed my aching curiosity. The bathroom door is ajar, a loud curse rises out, the deep bass voice makes me go still in shock all to aware who it was. Contemplating my options, I ponder on what to do. Gathering enough courage I enter the open door. Standing in all glory, his covered in blood. Gasping out, his eyes travel to mine. Taking two weak steps towards him, my eyes trailing over his. Slowly my eyes move to his exposed chest, every inch of his skin is coated with blood like a bloody s*******r. Looking worriedly for any wounds, his cold eyes watches me like a prey. Standing with only one feet away, my eyes widen at a large cut on his right ribs. Blood gust out from the open wound, without thinking, I move my hand to the painful exposed wound, his large hands stops my action immediately, his glacial stares makes me gulp, looking up pleadingly he eyes met mine. He looks away, his captive hands frees mine. Moving closer I take his surrender as an excuse to inspect. I trace my fingers gently on wound, a low hiss erupt from his lips. Flashing a worried graze, neither of us speaks. Leading him to the bathroom sit, he looks up sharply defensively, looking into his orbs I try to assure him somehow that I mean no harm. He sits grimly, his upper chest uncovered, i gulp slowly as a foreign feeling invades me. For days I have waited for his return, now that's his back am lost of words. Taking a bowl and a towel, i fill the bowl with a warm water, squatting down Infront of him, he mirror my actions with frown brows. Soaking the towel, I bring the towel to his chest gently. Dry blood covers his skin, the nagging thought of all this blood can't be his makes my head shake lightly. Drenching the fabric and squeezing it simultaneously, the droplet of blood covers the surface of the water, repeating the action several times. "There are not all my blood" his words startles me, pausing momentarily. Am filled with a million questions. Whose is it? Why are you hurt? What happened?. Instead of voicing out my concern, the silence drags on. " I know" my voice comes out low and timid. Am not afraid of him or what he could do and those he has harmed. Right now by concern lays with the mystery of a man before me. Looking through my laches his eyes holds mine captive. Looking away unsure, I continue to clean up the blood. Once am done I throw the water down the sink, he stands up dominating the space. Washing my hands, I watch him through the mirror, he fumbles around uncertain. Our eyes meet as he caught me staring. Facing towards him, I stare meekly. "Allow me to stitch your wounds" I offer "Don't worry" comes his prompt reply. A stab of pain travel through me at the rejection. Nodding my head, I bow my head automatically. He moves towards me, his hands lifts my chin sending sparks through the room, the same magnetic pulls draws me in. Towering over me, he looks down at my petite form. Gullible to the attraction, he seems unaffected. "Thank you" his word leaves me tongue tie, unable to reply I only stare insensated. He moves abruptly, without a word he matches out the room leaving me once more staring back at him. It takes me a minute to regroup before i start cleaning the bathroom with disinfectant, wiping away the blood stain on the toilet sit and floor. Railing over what just happened, realization finally hits me. How can I continue to comprise myself Infront of him. The voice in my head tell shouts at me, the Alpha is clearly a dangerous man, someone I should stay away from. I don't know what to call it, my attraction towards him, it leaves me questions with no ends. Groaning out in frustration, remembering how eager I was to clean his wounds. My action is filled with desperation, was I throwing myself at him or have I become what Aisha think I am to him. Just a an ordinary bed warmer. But is like JuJu when his close, all sense are thrown out through the window, is like am fighting an internal battle where I always lose. His the owner of the mansions for goodness sake, I have to stop this foolishness on my part. I would have to keep my distance I thought. Somehow I knew it would be difficult. I have to. *** Once I was done with the bathroom I moved to the bedroom. Standing dressed in a white shirt, he stood crossed hands, a scowl adored his face. With a moment for hesitation, I don't move and only stare at him from afar. Shaking my head I try to say strong. Repeating continuously in my mind he is only a handsome face. I walk towards the main area, two pairs of eyes looked up, the stranger kelechi sat on the couch with crossed leg an amused smirk on his face, with bowed head I showed them respect. Scrutinizing my water stain uniform. I probably smelt like toilet. The thought only make it embarrassing. "Nice to see you again, Vivian" I looked up, shocked that he still remembered my name. "Good morning" I muttered. " Let's go to my office" The Alpha grumbled out, kelechi stood up from the couch moving to follow the Alpha. He spoke "Hope, we would meet again" his words had a underlaying meaning, his eyes glinted teasingly. I don't respond and only nod my head. Both men goes through the door. The day dragged on slowly, I never once caught a glance of the supposed Alpha, kelechi left shortly after, he stayed in his office till I left the room. I walked to the dinning room weak to the bones. Cursing myself for pushing to hard, I sweep the already spotless floor, removed the clean bedsheet that haven't been used for days, putting on a new one. Dusting the shelves that were already without dust. Folding and iron his cloth even if I didn't have to. I try to convince myself I was only cleaning because it was my job and I didn't want him to see the place scattered and kept. I didn't want to seem lazy and unserious. Those thought preoccupied my mind as I walked to dining room. People were already sited on the long rectangular wooden table. I moved easily towards them less curious eyes watched me. I sat between Ebere and another girl. I haven't made much friends in the mansion expect for Ebere and Emmanuel. I mostly kept to myself. Garri and vegetables soup were already served before us, soaking my hands on a water bowl at the center of the table, not waiting another second, I moulded the garri with my hands and rolled it to little balls mixing it with the soup, swallowing it. I don't acknowledged the teste of the food and allow swallow it solemn. "Why the face?" a mocking voice address me, looking up from my plate, Aisha darken cat like eyes watches mine. Licking my fingers, I don't respond to her taunting remakes. "Why is it that you can't mind your business"? Ebere says beside me. "Can't Vivian speak for herself, are you her mother?" Aisha questions narrowing her eyes at Ebere. Her henchman laughed beside her, they loud child like giggles drags the attention of others sited in the dining room. The room has become less quite as eager eyes watch the event unfold. "I don't have your strength this evening" I finally speak up. Keeping my eyes on the plate. Molding another ball. Aisha laughs loudly, I can picture her dark lips forming into a smirk. " Who would have thought? a pause You can speak" she exclaimed. "Well, I only want to ask a question, I mean no trouble" she continues her voice reduce an octave. Coming a little closer, she leans closer from across me but the distance of table makes it hard. "Is the Alpha back"? Her question leaves the room deadly silent, I don't miss the way her voice goes higher with admiration as she says the last word. "Go and check for yourself" I spit out venomously. She chuckles lightly amused by my words however it doesn't stop her inquisitive nature. "What's hard there to answer"? "Whereas you are always with him" she implies, it hangs on the air as people begins to murmur lowly. Ebere taps my lap gently and shakes her head. Hissing out, I stand up from my sit. Storming out from the room with my food half eaten. "Where you dey go" she calls out. I don't glance her way. Ebere comes to room later after the confrontation. "Don't mind Aisha, she's just bitter" her eyes looks at mine carefully searching for something. I don't respond to her words, sitting on the reading table, watching the candle light sway gently by the night breeze lost in my own thought. " Did something happen in the Alpha bedroom" her enquiry makes me turn to her, looking wordless. Ebere has become one of my close friends, she has this ability to read people emotions. Her prudent eyes shines carefully under the candle light. Sighing softly, I rest my cheeks on my palm. "His back" I whispered, memories of past events flashed by. I can hear her footstep coming closer, leaning against the wall, she waits patiently for me to continue. "He was bloody, wounded on his right ribs" I explain everything to her from the incident in the bathroom to my unknown attraction towards him fully aware I would never reach his rank mare talk for his level. " That's alot" she finally speaks out, after I finished. I nod my head hopelessly. "Who is kelechi" I ask "The head of security, his very close to the Alpha" "Is that his real name?." I find myself asking out. "Who"? "Alpha is that his name?" Shrugging out " That's what we are supposed to call him". She says. Her words are a silent reminder that he is well above me with status, wealth and everything. "You shouldn't allow your feelings get into the way, the Alpha is not one you can easily be with" her words flows out like a silent reminder. I don't respond, I graze out from the little square window looking out at the moon, resting my head on my hand, either of us speaks for a while. "You should sleep" she suggests. I only nod, she leaves shutting the door gently behind her. Laying down on the mattress, I watch the candle melt slowly.
