Chapter Three: Settling in

Six weeks later...

David's POV

We finally were settled in as far as new furniture goes and a whole new wardrobe. I was still trying to get the hang of the speaking " Spanish ", Elizabeth was like the Spanish god or something. I suddenly felt like a complete i***t when we would go out and would have to conversate with people. Noah kept teasing me at the bit, he seemed to be catching on to the language with no issues. How? I do not know. You would think because we are technically the same person, he would struggle to comprehend the language as well. 

I was amid cleaning the cobwebs from the ceiling in the living room when I heard a sudden scream. I dropped the duster and sprinted to find Elizabeth jumping up and down in Eli's arms at the front door. " I can't believe it; you guys really came. " She sounded like a giggling schoolgirl. I cleared my throat making my presence known. " I take it you’re not dying " I chuckled c*****g my head to the side. " No, why would you think that " Elizabeth smirked, confused by my question. " Your ear-piercing scream made me nearly fall off the ladder trying to get to you " I crossed my arms and leaned against the wall. " I am sorry, I was just excited " she blushed, running her fingers through her hair. " Soo, are we going to invite us in or let us stand in the doorway " Eli spoke awkwardly. " I apologize, come on in " I smiled shaking my head. 

Elizabeth guided Eli and Erick to the living room beginning their grand tour of the house. " It looks spacious " Eli smiled. " Still needs a lot of cleaning up " he continued. " I have good practice with older houses if you need any help " Erick chimed dropping his bag next to him. " I will take all the help I can get " I spoke chuckling nervously. " Dude you need to start manning up " Noah chimed at the back of my head causing me to smirk. " You ok love " Elizabeth noticed my facial expression. " Oh, you know the usual, he's being an annoying d**k " I said rolling my eyes as an Elizabeth laughed. " So how am I not manning up? " I thought back to Noah. " Your letting another man help you fix our house? " Noah spoke with a sarcastic tone. " I know you have seen how huge this place is, I am not trying to be working on the house with a newborn " David boomed to Noah. Noah could only roll his eyes internally. " I'm sure the child will be fine " he muttered. 

" DAVID " a voice yelled suddenly pulling me back to the reality in front of me. " I - I am - Sorry everyone I was distracted. " I said with a small smile. " You’re ok love, I was about to show Eli and Erick around " she smiled innocently. " Oh, alright babe. I am just going to get back to clearing the house " I answered pulling her in for a hug. " have fun " I whispered in her ear before she walked away. 

Elizabeth's POV

" So, this is going to be the baby’s room " she smiled excitedly. " The house is beautiful " Eli smiled " and you are glowing " he continued. " I am starting to feel pregnant finally " Elizabeth let out a small chuckle looking down at the small pudge forming on her stomach. " I can't believe I am already three months. " she smiled rubbing her belly. " So, have you seen a doctor yet " Eli rose a brow. " I haven't been able to find one yet no " she replied. " Well if that's the case, I am glad I had equipment shipped here with us from our parent's clinic " Erick chimed in with a smile. " Really what kind " Elizabeth smiled, her eyes growing wide. " Ultrasound equipment. I can set it up later today and peek on how things are going. Find out how far along you really are and give you a due date " he answered. Elizabeth's only reaction was to jump up and down with excitement " Thank you! Thank you so much! " she continued, giving Erick a hug. " I don't know what I would do without you two as my friends. Which reminds me. " she spoke pulling away " How is Jamie and How are you after everything with Anna " she asked in a soft angelic voice. 

" Well Jamie is still clean, he's working his ass off to pay off that lawyer that got you out of jail that day, and we may have rekindled our relationship " Eli blushed sheepishly making Elizabeth smile. " And Erick " she rose a brow looking at him. " Anna and I are getting a divorce. " he spoke his face drained of any happiness that was there when he first arrived. " I - I am not sure what to say. I am sorry if I am the cause " she spoke feeling guilty. " It's not your fault. I honestly think she is not over Jackson and she probably never will be. I mean don't get me wrong we all miss him but life goes on and loving a ghost isn't the way I want to live my life and her betraying you and your friendship over someone who is gone for over three years, it's just too much " Erick spoke with tears in his eyes. I watched was he tried to blink his tears away. " She was my first love and she always will be. I used to think about our future and how it would be. But now I wonder if that future ever stood a chance if Jackson was still here, I mean don't get me wrong I can't hate someone who is dead but I seriously question if Anna and I would have ever gotten married. " he chuckled trying to fake not being in pain. 

* KNOCK KNOCK* David peaked his head through the nursey door. " I am not interrupting anything am I " he sounded awkward. " It's alright come in " Elizabeth smiled while comforting Erick. " Thanks for listening to me and my pathetic problems. I am just, more than anything I am sorry about the problems she caused the both of you " he smiled. " No need to apologize. " Elizabeth smiled.  " SOOO " Eli spoke awkwardly " Now that my brother is done with his sob story what are the plans for today? " I rolled my eyes " Eli you really are inconsiderate " I spoke crossing my arms smirking. " As if you have the audacity to call it a sob fest after how you acted two years ago when you and Jamie first split " she paused " I remember you eat tubs of  ice cream for weeks and sappy movies, refusing to get out of bed " she rose a brow now leaning forward. " I- I, you swore we'd never speak of that again " Eli smirked. " Well then don't be rude to your brother when you know exactly how he feels and what he is going through " she exclaimed. " So, apologize " she continued. Eli sighed. " Erick, I am sorry that I was rude for not considering your feelings and what you are going through. You will find someone way better then Anna, I promise. But seeing you waste tears on that fake b***h just makes me so angry " he finished. " Apology accepted, and no need to explain yourself for your anger. I get it. I was warned multiple times by everyone. " Erick spoke soft looking down. 

David's POV

I stood there awkwardly not sure how to even engage in the conversation in front of me. I sort of just zoned out again, which has been happening a lot lately. " Noah " I whispered to back of my mind. " Hello " I whispered again. Jesus guess I have no way out of this. " David " Elizabeth's soft voice spoke. " Yes love " I smiled snapping out of it. " How do you feel about seeing our baby for the first time " she smiled.
