So I decided to accept Rodney's apology dinner . Everything was on time the car showed up at exactly eight o'clock got to the restaurant he had it to where it was just us and was even waiting for me at the door.

"You didn't have to rent out the place" I said as he walked me to our table.

"Just wanted you to enjoy the night no interruptions" he replied before pulling my chair out. I sat down and observed the lay out of everything . There was a bouquet of roses on the table and a bottle of champagne expensive champagne at that beside me .

"I hope you like roses" he said handing them to me before having a seat.

"I do but daffodils are my favorite".

He place the table cloth in his lap and said "noted I'll remember for next time". Next time? This was just a one time thing in my head, but to not ruin the moment I didn't say anything.

He looked damn good though in his all white outfit. Freshly touched up beard and hair cut not to mention he smelled good . I must was staring because he asked "something on my face"?

I chuckled and said "no my bad for staring"?

He licked his lips that sent chills up my spine and said "you good let order".

As we ate I decided to open up to him because even though I didn't like what he said he did open up to me.

Swallowing my food and wiping my mouth I spoke "you asked why I didn't follow in my parents footsteps and joined the military"?

He sipped his glass of champagne and said "yea, but you don't have to tell me if you don't want".

I sighed and said "I didn't join because I saw how the military placed a strain on my parents marriage . My dad cheated on my mom with another solider while overseas and continued the affair when they got back and then she became pregnant . Not once but twice my father has two outside kids and when she threatened to tell my mother, because my dad didn't keep his promise he made to her which was he was going to leave my mom she was going to tell her herself he decided to finally come clean.

My mom separated from my father for tree years before they reconciled. Then when my uncle died I found out that while my dad was overseas my mom was cheating on him as well with my uncle. The only reason she took my dad back was because she felt guilty about what she had done. So with that I decided that the military life just wasn't for me.

"Your dad forgave your mom for cheating on him with his brother"? He asked .

"He did I mean what choice did he have he cheat and fathered two kids and kept it from my mom".

"And him and the other women"?

"Don't speak unless it's about my sisters and now their old enough to call him on their own".

"Wow and how have you accepted all that"? He asked .

"Oh I was pissed with the both of them for a long time even was mad at my uncle, but then I got over it. It's their live I couldn't let it effect me . I just knew I never wanted that to happen to me because I saw how when they both found out about each other's cheating scandals how it changed them".

He nods and says "that's some strong love that brought them back together".

I shrugged and said "if that's love than I don't want that type of love because even though their together when I'm around I can still feel the sadness and tension even when they are trying to hide it. They both cheated and they both still keep it as a jab to throw at each other. I just think their together because they don't wanna be alone".

Rodney smiles and said "I must say though they made one beautiful daughter".

Blushing I replied "oh stop but thank you".

He replies "your welcome finish eating the night isn't over yet".

Wondering what else this man had up his sleeves I started back eating. This was starting to feel more like a date than anything and right now I didn't mind because I was enjoying his company.
