“He was wondering if I was okay with Kaylee inviting you to the party.” He smiled.
“What you tell him?”
“I told him that it was okay that you came with her, but you BETTER be good at beer bong.”
“Okay and why do you say that?”
“Because you and I are going to play tonight. But I’m not going to make you stay the whole party so I’ll be taking you home. I know Kaylee will want to be with Cody all night. Is that okay that I take you home?”
“Yes it will be fine.” I smiled and looked down at my phone. Kaylee texted me asking me. I said yes that would be fine with me to go to one party with her.
He kissed me one last time before the bell rang. We walked out the door. Kaylee was in a good mood the rest of the day. At lunch I was sitting with Cody, Kaylee and a few others kids when Gale walked over.
“Hey Arianna, how are you today?” How in the world did he find out what my name was?
“I’m good. But how did you find out my name?”
“I have friends in high places.”
“I see. Do I know who that may be?”
“Maybe, but I’m not sure you talk to them.” He said. I looked over to the table that Brandon was sitting in next to Michelle. She was turned and talking to her friend not caring that Brandon’s arm was around her shoulder. But I did it bugged me to see that she was the one that he was touching and not me. He was looking at me like I did something bad, I didn’t though, or at less since the last time we talked I didn’t. I looked back to Gale.
“So is there any chance that you are going to Cody Maxwell’s Party tonight?” He smiled at me.
I smiled shyly at him. “Yeah I am going with my best friend Kaylee her dating Cody.”
“Sweet, I’ll see you there then say eight or so?”
“Oh, I will be there right after school if Kaylee driving in which she will.” I smiled again.
“Well I can give you a ride if you want.” He asked.
“Oh, no I’m good. I’m sure we will do a few things before we head over to his house.” The smile fell a bit from his face. “But I will text you when we are over at his house. How about that?”
The smile was back. “That would be great. I will see you then.” And with that he was gone.
Kaylee looked at me after he was gone.
“What was that all about? Since when in the world did Gale start talking to you?”
“Umm, this morning when I got to school early I went to get a coffee and as I was going throw the front door he was coming in and ran me over almost.”
She raised an eyebrow at me. “And then what?”
“I told him sorry for running into him and went on my way. After that I thought I was never going to talk to him again but he showed up at my coffee shop that I go to. And then we talked and he gave me his number. And name. I didn’t give him my number or name but somehow found out what my name was. And I’m betting it was Brandon.”
“Why do you say that?” she asked.
“Because the whole time he was talking to me Brandon looked mad.”
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I think I’m going to head off to fifth hour. I’ll meet you at your locker after school? Are you still going to be giving me a ride to the party?”
“Yes, we will go to my house and get ready. Be ready to wear something sexy. I have a big plan for you Ari.”
“I hope it’s your outfit. You know I don’t have anything like that.” I smiled at her. She knows that I did but it was in the back of my closet.
She smiled back at me. “Yes I have something for you to wear silly. I always have something for you to wear. I’m just really happy that you are coming to the party with me.”
Cody looked at me like I was there for the first time ever. “Talking about the party how’s your game of beer pong?”
Kaylee started laughing. So did I.
“Well sounds like it’s not that good.”
“Sure.” Is all I said before standing up and walking out. Tonight is going to be fun.
I walked down the halls of the school. Everyone was still at lunch.
Walking up to the second floor for the sixth time today. I went for my locker. As I turned the coroner I can face to face with Gale.
“Hey.” I said.
“Hey beautiful, didn’t think I was going to see you around so fasted.” He smiled down at me.
“Me too I was just going to get my books for fifth hour. It’s down stairs so if I don’t get done with lunch fast then when the bell rings it’s hard to get to class on time.”
“I understand that. I have a class first hour that is like that. That’s why I come to school early get my books, take them to my class then go get coffee or whatever I’m in the mood for.” I started walking to my locker he followed me.
“I do that to when I get to school early like today.”
“Yeah, what I don’t get is why I never seen you around.” Then added. “I would think a beautiful girl like yourself would be sitting with the cool kids like Michelle.”
“Well we can just say that Michelle doesn’t like me, if you ask why well even I don’t know why she just does. “ I laughed. I unlocked my locker and grabbed my books that were needed.
“Well what would you say if I asked you to sit next to me for the rest of the year? Its only four months left before we are done and go off to college and I would like to get to know you more.”
“I would say that would be fine by me but you have to talk it up with Queen Bitchy Bee.” I never said my nickname for Michelle to anyone but Kaylee but only because she thought about half of it with me.
“Wow, that’s a nickname I never heard of before. I like it.” I started laughing with him after that.
“Well it was nice talking to you but I got to get going Gale.”
“Let me walk you. It’s the less I can do and anyways I’m going down to the first floor for my class anyways.”
“Okay that’s fine with me.”
“Great.”
