“So. Ari what made it to where you started talking to Brandon again?” His dad asked once we were at dinner. “Well Brandon and I have to same math class and the teacher paired us up to have a final grade for the end of the year.” I stopped then added. “I didn’t want to end the year with a bad grade if you know what I mean.” His dad laughed at that. “Hey you know that I get good grades as well as you do Ari.” Brandon said. He was right he was an A, B student. I was an A student but that didn’t mean much. Brandon had two reasons to keep his grades up. One was because he wanted to get into a big school, and the second was because of sports. “Well I think that you guys will be a good team, and get a good grade on the final. And I also think that the teacher thought you two could use same luck. You know? I mean Brandon went what a year thinking that you were going to come walking up to the door and walk back into his arms. I know that you guys both said some mean thing to each other, I guess you could say I was the same way as Brandon I was hoping to see you again. The only one that did see you was my wife.  She would tell us stories of how well you were going up and how your schooling and life was doing. One night she came home was a picture of you and was showing Brandon it and then he took it and looked it for hours and then started-” he was cut off. “Dad I think she gets the point I missed her like hell.” Brandon looked at me slowly and smiled. “Be glad your mother not here to hear that word come out of that mouth of yours boy.” He dad laughed. “Yeah, wait what are you doing home? I thought you were to be gone tell the tenth.” “They didn’t need my team on the case but the past part is that I get paid for not working. I go back in next week ago.” He smiled up a storm. We talked for another hour before clearing up. I worked in the living to grab my books and put them away. Brandon looked at me. “What?” I asked. “You looked tried. Would you like me to take you home?” “Umm yeah that sounds good to me.” He grabbed my books and as a said good-bye to his father. I walked outside.  The night air was nice. Brandon was half way down the stairs. “Do you want to drive home?” He asked. I looked at him a smiled. “Are you kidding of course I want to drive home. I miss driving.”  “When do you get your car back?” “Last week soon time. But then as they went to start it the oil pan cut open.” “What year is it?” “2003.” I grabbed the keys from him and ran to the driver side and hoped in the Jeep. He hoped in and closed the door. “Then how the oil pan cut open?” “Umm, well to everyone else I have no an idea, To Kay and I, well let’s just say don’t take a car to go on the back road that really are only meant for a jeep or truck.” “You went for wheeling with your car?” “Yeah. Umm that why I don’t let her drive my car, or at less won’t let her drive my car when I get it back.”  Then I added. “My dad wants to pay me a new car when he can.” “I see.” And with that I pulled out of his drive way and drove home. “Ari?” “Yes?” “Do you think that maybe you and I could start a life together after high school?” I didn’t know that to say to that. “Umm, I think that it could be something we can look forward to.” He didn’t answer after that and when I pulled into my parking space Brandon grabbed my hand. He pulled my lips to his and kissed me. “Good night Ari. I’ll see you tomorrow in class.” I walked to my door to hear laughter inside. I opened to door to find that the band was sitting around having a beer and talking. “Hey guys, I’m home.” I said slowly and I looked around to find that it was more than just the band. “Hey little sis. Mom and dad called they said that they were going to be gone a little longer.” John said as Flo came to sit next to him. “Okay well it’s been a long day, so I’m going to head up to bed. Night guys.” They all say night and I walked to my room
