“So you acted like my father calling?” I asked wanting to move on.
“Yes I did.”
He looked sideways at me. “Do you want to go home or not right now?”
No I don’t because if I go home I face Brandon and I can’t do that.
“Let’s get something to eat.” I walked to my car but remembered I didn’t have much gas.
“Come on we can go in my truck.”
I looked out the window as we drove looking for a place to eat at. We were in Utah and I didn’t know much but it looked like he did.
“How do you know so much and here? I mean you act like you know where you’re going.”
“I do. I lived here with my real mother when I was ten. I didn’t live with my dad tell I was eleven after my mom died.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry.”
He looked over to me and smiled.
“It’s okay I didn’t know about my father tell it was written in her will that I live with him. She kept me from him for all though years because she believe that he was going to take me.”
“Oh.” Was that all I could say now?
“So anyways after she died my father came to the door and told me that I was going to be living with him for now on out. I didn’t learn that he was my father tell a few months after. He was talking to his wife about me and he would as son every now and then. I put it off as nothing tell he told me. I didn’t believe him so we had a DNA test done and he was my father. I love him and think as him a better on out of him and my mother.”
“Oh.” Really?
“Is that long you can say now?”
“I think so.” I answered him with a laugh.
I looked out the window and saw a I-Hop.
I turned to Gale. I smiled widely. “There? Oh please it’s been for ever since I’ve been there.”
He pulled off and into the parking lot of I-Hop. I jumped out and walked to the door.
We were sitting and waited on. I got a small meal due to the fact I was upset and I never ate much with I was.
Gale smiled at me as we ate our food. I wanted to know more about him and his life. But was it okay to ask? His past sounds dark in a way. Like as t why his mother would hide he own son from his father.
I smiled back at him. I was last in thought tell the end of the meal.
