There hadn't been much more said to the Alpha and she certainly didn't mention her issues with her mate and they had finally gotten around to finding a witch to fix her separation problems with Onyx but none of that was on her mind when the days passed and it was her first day of University. Gatlin almost trembled with excitement, this is all she had been dreaming about for years and it was finally happening. Just a short train ride with a new discovering she found about herself and her enjoyment of public transport than a short walk to the university but first stopping off for a cup of coffee. The day was flowing smoothly along already when she arrived Gatlin had picked up all her schedules and papers when she toured with Mara while everything else was emailed, she had spent the day before organising everything and making sure she was completely prepared and once she was on campus Gatlin knew she was. Flicking open her folder one last time to make sure she knew where her class was on the map then making her way across the grounds “Linz, Linz!” the sound of her name made her glance around the campus before they set on Mara making her way over with a beautiful young brunette woman with a head full of braids tied up in a bun. “Hey Mara, I didn't know you were working today” Gatlin greeted her with a smile she wasn't usually overly peppy but she was just in too good of a mood. “I just came in early for some papers anyway. I wanted you to meet some, Gatlin Pryce this is my niece Cassidy Bishop” Mara introduced her to the young woman who was now smiling beside her. She was taller than Gatlin vibrant green eyes and a stunning completion with her caramel skin it was like the woman could be a model. “It's so nice to meet you, Gatlin. Aunt Mara told me so much about you” the girl continued to smile thought it was a little perplexing with Gatlin’s sense of smell she could smell it all over Cassidy that she was a witch however Mara was a human though families came in all different forms so she shouldn't be surprised. “Nice to meet you too” Gatlin greeted politely. “Cassidy is in your first class for Bio I thought she could help you out” in the short amount of time Gatlin had known Mara she had already gathered what a kind woman she was and glad her aunt had found someone so wonderful. She couldn't imagine having that sort of luck. “Thank you but you didn't have to do that” Gatlin hoped however she didn't feel obligated to help her. “Its okay, Linz. Cassidy was happy to. Anyway, I have to go hope you two have a good day” Mara smiled at the girls before leaving. Gatlin half expected Cassidy to ditch her despite Mara being kind she didn't expect much from people however Cassidy didn't she stood beside her clutching the graffiti-covered folder to her chest. “Thank you, you don't have to do this” Gatlin attempted to let the girl out of the situation if she didn't want to. “No, really I don't mind...” Cassidy gave her another smile before she began walking and Gatlin quickly fell into step with her “so you're a werewolf.” “I am and you're a witch” Gatlin added. “I am, I actually grew up in a pack. We were one of three witch families” Cassidy explained as they continued their walk. “How is it you're a witch and Mara is--” “Human? Mara is my mother's sister, my mother is human and my father is a witch” Cassidy explained “you will find that a lot here. mixes of witches, wolves, fae and a few humans it's quite a diverse mix. Though you will be like one of maybe ten werewolves.” “Yeah, a lot of wolves tend to not be interested in furthering their education. Most go on with their duties in the pack it's mainly Alpha’s and Beta’s who are supposed to study to help with business aspects for the pack or a few members that want to help the pack somehow” Gatlin explained with a careless shrug. “Is that why you're here?” Cassidy questioned her bright green eyes focusing on Gatlin as they reached the entryway to the science department. “No” she replied flatly “I just love to learn. One day I want to become a botanist” Cassidy simply laughed opening the large glass door for the pair. “No wonder we already get along. Witches are nature bound creatures” Gatlin couldn't help but smile at that as they continued their idle chit chat. Gatlin had never had a female friend most of the girls in her pack weren't all too enthusiastic about her interests and they seemed to have nothing in common though that didn't bother Gatlin much. ::: The classroom was everything she could hope for and more. Large, spacious room with rows and rows of seats that were stepped up in a semi-circular position. It smelt of chalk and old books and instantly Gatlin was in love “Are you okay?” Cassidy asked her dark shaped eyebrows frowning slightly. Gatlin hadn't even realised she had stopped to stare. “Yes, yes sorry. I got distracted” she always tended to let her mind slip away from her. Cassidy simply nodded and led the girl up the staircase midway in the rows where they took their seats. “There aren't too many people in this class and the Professor is nice so it's one of my favourites” Cassidy commented resting her folder onto the desk “after class I can introduce you to some people show you around some more. You will get used to this place in no time” Gatlin knew Cassidy wasn't wrong she wasn't already feeling at ease and as she settled into her first class it already felt like the promise to a new beginning.
