Chapter FourThe Floating Horror Jen closed her eyes as she lay back on the hard cot she shared with Daniel. She was alone for now, Daniel having gone to ‘do the rounds’ as they called it. The group they had come in with had been isolated to their rooms since they had come aboard. They weren’t the only refugees on board. The equipment and vehicles had been removed from the bowels of the ship near the beginning of the outbreak to make room, the cavernous space sectioned off with plywood or thin metal sheets to give the illusion of separate rooms. No one had been allowed up to the soldiers’ areas though. All they knew of them was that from the mix of uniforms and accents, the force on board was made up of factions from around the world.
