Aurora’s POV
My eyes flung open under sharp
blinding lights.
The sterile smell of antiseptic filled my nostrils, burning my nose.
I blinked frantically, trying to steady my breath, my chest pounding like I’d just escaped something—though I couldn’t remember what
Where the hell was I?
I darted my eyes around the room. White walls. A monitor beeping steadily beside me. IV in my arm. Hospital.
Why?
I tried to sit up, but a jolt of pain coursed at the back of my skull. I winced, my fingers automatically reaching toward the bandage I hadn’t noticed until now.
What happened to me?
My mind was slurred as I tried to find out anything...something.
The door creaked open and a nurse peeked in. Her eyes widened when she saw I was awake.
"Oh! You’re up," she said, quickly stepping inside
