I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant, it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.                                              -Meowth HER   We stayed at Tristan's yesterday night. He has three extra rooms but Ava and I shared one. The  next morning, after I dropped Ava at school I headed straight to the  office not really angry about yesterday anymore. The morning was pretty boring, two meetings about stock and with the HR department. In the afternoon I had no appointments so I was surprised to head someone knocking on my door at a quarter past one. I straightened up and pretended to be doing something before clearing my throat and saying 'come in'.       Paxton was the last person I was expecting to come through that door and suddenly all the previously vanished anger resurfaced.  I stood up and before I did anything I picked the phone with a direct line to my receptionist and said "Pack your stuff, go to HR and tell them I need a new receptionist ASAP, they'll find another job for you, one you are capable of doing" before disconnecting the call and facing the problem in front of me.     He had an astonished look on his face but I didn't give a damn. "What are you doing here?" I asked with a voice void of emotions. He smiled goofily and replied "Do I need a reason to come visit my girlfriend?".   "I don't have time for this, Mr Pierre" with a voice that didn't sound like mine.    "But I had a whole date planned"   "Sorry, I already made plans with my ‘lover’ tonight"   "I'm sorry about that okay? I'm trying here"   "Now we know how I felt. The way out is the same way in"   I turned going back to sit when he said" I'm sorry for acting like a jerk. I dont trust easily and when I saw you and the guy bad memories flashed through my mind and I ended up jumping into conclusions and I'm really sorry and I'll try to make it up to you and Ava"   I sighed in frustration then turned back around "Okay". I was going to be stuck with him either way so ....   We waited until 3pm when Ava finished from school before going to pick her up. We met up at the house. After changing Ava and myself we pilled into Paxton's car.         We get into Paxton's car since he didn't tell us where we were going. He helped carry Ava's car seat into his car even though I protested that it wasn't heavy. In about 30 minutes, we parked in front of the 7D amusement park. It was the best amusement park ever. Ava was practically jumping out of her seat. I unbuckled her seat and had to hold her down so she wouldn't run off without us. Ava was making sure not to come in contact with Paxton and I'm pretty sure he noticed. I kinda felt bad for him. He paid for our passes (platinum) meaning we can go on all the rides as many times as we want without waiting in lines. I protested against it, wanting to pay for mine but he said it was a 'date'.        I grudgingly accepted because I didn't want to argue in front of Ava. We went on Ferris wheels, spinning cups, roller coasters (kiddies), pirate ships, cotton candy, popcorn and a lot more. It was kinda fun....... okay, a lot fun   Ava was definitely having the time of her life and she was kinda warming up to Paxton. I was about to call Tristan to take our stuff back to the house but I decided against it. He would have to work for forgiveness. Ava was asleep by the time we returned to Paxton's car. I strapped her into her seat before taking mine. The silence was terribly uncomfortable. I took the aux cable and connected it to my phone playing my awkward silence playlist.   I almost missed the turning to Tristan's house.    "Take a right here" I said, not really paying attention. He paused for a second and I could feel his gaze on me. I didn't really mind. He turned right and I gave him the directions till we entered Tristan's driveway. The house is average sized but magnificent. It was ranked 27 in the best architectural structures of 2017. I figure Paxton was dumbstruck when he saw the house. It was a common response when you see the house for the first time. What he said next made my mouth dry.    "Is the house safe for  Ava?"    "......."   "Did you hear what I said?"   "Umm.... Yeah Tristan got everything childproofed while we left this morning"   He got out of the car and unbuckled Ava's seat and started heading inside.    "I don't think you should do that, you aren't really Tristan's favorite person right now" He didn't really pay attention to what I said. Ringing the doorbell I waited for hell to break loose but when Tristan opened the door and saw Paxton carrying Ava he just directed him to the room he had decorated for Ava. When he returned to the door the awkward silence continued. I broke it saying...   "Thank for today, Ava really enjoyed herself"   "Did you?"   "What?"   "Did you enjoy yourself?"   "Umm.... Yeah"   "Good, I'll see you tomorrow and please have mercy on your receptionist or should I say your ex" he said with a chuckle.   He placed a kiss on my cheek before leaving.       *The next day*   I was at the office going through a list of applicants for a new PA. I'm looking for a permanent replacement. HR will find another job for her. I stumbled across a familiar name and starred the name. We knew each other in college, she was a mutual friend of Luke and I - Holly Snow. Of course she will have to go through the interview and all. The door opened interrupting my thoughts. In walked Paxton with a red cooler in his hand. He looked at peace with a smile in his usual Armani suit with a red tie. He sat across from me on my client seat. He got on my good side yesterday with how he handled Ava and stuff but he doesn't have to know that yet.   "I need a new receptionist" I said feigning annoyance   "I brought lunch, umm.... it's home made just not home made by me"   "Why?"   "'cause a growing woman needs her food"   "I'm quite capable of feeding myself"   "I know but is it wrong for me to want to see my girlfriend?"   "Umm... do I know her?"   "Yeah, look in a mirror" I replied trying to keep the smile off his face   "Oh, so that's the person that's always staring back at me. She's kinda creepy."    "I'll tell her you said that" he said letting the smile slip through
