Episode 5

It's a beautiful morning. The Hills compound smells of laughter and jokes. Music is played in the background.

The make up artists are busy on the bride to be's face..

Katherine is in a white thick body towel. She's kneeling comfortably on a soft pink pillow, staring at the mirror with mixed feelings.

She's both scared and anxious.

She's finally getting married.

The past week have been so stressful and full of happiness.

Her bride price was higher than any price in the whole country!

And of course, Mr. Greg, wanting to show off, bought a mansion for The hills family, furnished to the core!

While her groom is paying for every single process of the wedding plan.

All Kath did was to pick her venue, her colour and food type.

Yet it was still stressful! The couples were not allowed to see each other till today that's their wedding.

As her face was being decorated, her mind drifted to that handsome demigod she saw in the woods that scared her.

Since that day, she hasn't gone there out of fear, even if she always had that strong urge that he'll be there waiting for her, she didn't just move.

That day scared her enough.

Somehow she wished it was that demigod she was getting married to and he was a little kind, not like the angry guy she saw that day... He should be more handsome than Mr Greg's son right?

Cole as he's called can't be handsome than him right?' Katherine wondered.

Just thinking she's going to begin another episode of her life with a guy, and not just any guy, the towns richest, most powerful and cruel guy of the country if not the world is overwhelming! In fact her heart was pounding in her tummy.

Just then she felt her mum's hand on her shoulder from behind as the maids continued.

"Lessen up a bit. You'll be fine. I promise" she said, smiling.

"I'm trying to mother, it's not easy.. I'm scared. You're not the one getting married to the country's wicked Master" Kath said with a vulnerable voice.

"I know sweety. But let me tell you a secret that has helped me over the years" Mrs Hills said and Kath gave her listening ear and attention.

"Look how beautiful you are!" Her mum diverting the topic, making Kath pout in desire.

"Mum... speak already" she urged.

"Okay Okay.. listen attentively Katherine" her mum said calling her full name and looking serious.

"People change. Some people out of trauma or a particular tragedy in their life. Now here's the secret. Love can change anybody. Love can soften any human's heart, even if it's as hard as stone, love will melt it like water" Mrs Hills said and Kath modded but still confused.

"But Mum, I don't love this guy. I don't know him! I've not seen him before.. no one has! How can you say I should love him?" She asked.

Katherine's Pov

"Care for him.. see him as a normal human.. and not a monster..try to be friends with him. Try to help him better. My dear baby I want you to be the one to change the county's cruel master. Just be You. That's enough. You are loving enough " Mum said and somehow that made me feel relaxed.

"Thank you so much Mum " I said sincerely..

I felt comfortable after a second.

"Okay, I'll be on my way to the church. See you there " Mum said, kissed my cheek and left...

The make up artists were done with my face.

"We'll go get your gown mam " they said and left, leaving me with one of them who kept smiling at me.

Just then, my door flew open and Julie ran in with my senior sister and the twins..

I ran and hugged every one of them.

"Gush you look beautiful Kathy!" My sister said as I blushed.

"We're gonna miss you sis!" My twin siblings said to me and I looked at them sadly.

"I'll always visit sweetheart. I know we don't spend time together again since this marriage fiasco began..but don't worry, we'll hang out one of these days alright, anywhere you want, Plus you'll be able to resume school again.

How does that sound?" I said to my siblings as they jubilated.

"Sis, we'll hang out at the cinema alright" Joe my brother suggested with joy but was cut short by Gina his twin sister

"No way! No one is watching horror movie with you! We'll go to the princess Ice cream shop" Gina protested making us laugh

"Alright no fighting on my wedding day guys, we'll go to the both places" I said and they stopped arguing.

"Alright, you two outside now, Julie and Big sis will be with you soon " I said and they left..

"Look who's getting married!" Julie screamed, making me laugh.

"Oh my gush lil sis.. you look perfect. Your groom is gonna love your look " she said and I rolled my eyes..

"Thanks to Mum I'm not so scared anymore.. " I said.

"Oh common! Come off it.

Have you seen the house his father bought for you! It's spacious, freezy and beautiful.. it feels like paradise! What more could you ask for?" Julie said and I faked a smile.

"You'll be okay sis, I assure you. It's always like that at first " she said and I nodded an Okay..

The Make up artists were here with my wedding gown already...

"Okay girl, we'll meet you in church" My sister said while Julie blew me a kiss as they left.

Julie seems to be extra happy today.

Something's up.

I brushed it off though and wore my gown.

Let's go get married!

Cole's Pov

I'm back at my dad's compound in a ridiculous suit.

"You look amazing brother!" Jane said but I ignored her.

Why is it necessary to wear a suit anyway?.

Can't I Just get married in my hoodie?

The compound is being decorated, for reception while the main wedding will be in Church.

Thankfully, None of my brothers are attending my wedding so, let's say, I'll have a little fun with this strange wife of mine.

She'd better be beautiful or mesmerizing like that angel from the woods.

I always went back to those woods to wait for her but she didn't show up. I really wished I could see her again..

Well f**k that, I'm getting married today! She just lost her chance..

"Smile a little.. you know you don't have to wear that mask anymore right? You're getting married now" Jane said and I looked at her pathetically.

"Why? Is there any law that forbids me wearing mask in marriage? And even if there was, I don't follow the rules" I said and began adjusting my hair, looking at the window.

"No, there isn't.. but you have to be real with your wife.. that's all I meant. Do it for me please..?????" Jane pouted and I rolled my eyes.

"Alright fine! Whatever" I said and she jubilated

"Sometimes I forget you are my elder sister!" I said and she laughed rolling her eyes at me.

"Here let me adjust your tie" she said and began adjusting my tie.

She stops and looks at me in the eye..

"You'll make a good husband " she blabs, making me push her away slightly.

"Piss off! Why are you even so happy about this marriage stuff? You do know that when I'm married you won't be able to sleep beside me again every night. You might not even stay in my house " I said trying to scare her a little but of course, she knew I was joking.

"That means nothing. I want to see you love someone again. More than you loved Eva." She said and my face stiffened the more at the mention of Eva's name.

"I'm sorry I called her..I didn't mean " she was saying when Leo and Sam walked in.

"Hey groom!" Sam said as we exchanged handshake

"I'd probably get going " Jane said, about to leave when I dragged her back and hugged her dearly.

"You have never offended me Jane. Thanks for being here to witness my wedding day. I love you " I said to her and she smiled.

"I love you too brother... I'll get going" Jane said and Left

"Awwn! So sweet " Leo said mickmicking a small girl.

"You do know you're getting married today right?" Sam asked

"So?" I asked rolling my eyes

"I can't wait to see you treat your future wife like you treat Jane " Sam said.

"Never! The bride in question had better be in fear. She's marrying the guy all the ladies in Olivarez regected. She'll see hell " I said and laughed..

When I found out I was the only one laughing I looked at my friends.

"What's wrong " I asked.

"You have to stop bro.. open your heart again " Leo said.

"We want to see you happy again bro!" Sam said.

"Did you guys watch a soap opera before getting here? Common, where are my cruel guy friends? I don't do Love anymore guys.. I thought you guys understood that men " I said and they raised their hands in surrender.

"Okay Okay, we agree with you " They said as Leo started talking..

"Yeah, whatever you want "

"Now common you can't be late for your wedding "

"Yeah..the bride shouldn't get there before you. It's never heard of. Now common let's go " Sam and Leo said taking turns with their speech as they held my hands and shoulders leading me to my latest Lamborghini and we sped off to the church.

*At the church*

Writer's Pov..

Cole is already waiting at the alter with his Dad after everyone else walked down the isle.

Then the trumpet sounded and the big gates opened revealing Katherine in her veil as she walked down the isle with her head down.

She was afraid of looking up. Who knows what her husband might look like... Cole on the other hands was wondering why the bride's head was down..

There was something about this Bride..

He couldn't just place a finger on it...

As Katherine neared the alter, she thought she perceived that mint creamed scent of the demigod in the woods..

'Is he here?' she wondered

'he came to witness my wedding? How did he know about it? ' these thoughts ran through her mind as she climbed the three steps to the alter with pounding heart as the scent got stronger...

Cole watched the bride with expression of shock and doubt.

It couldn't be her, now can it? He didn't want to believe what his mind was telling him.

Just as Katherine climbed the last alter...the two, faced themselves and Katherine looked up.

Immediately they froze!

"It's her! It's her! Oh my days! The universe is playing a trick on me. Didn't everything Just get better!" Cole yell in his mind out of excitement and uncertainty, not knowing how else to express himself. But on the outside, he looked just normal.. Just shocked.

Meanwhile,

In Katherine 's mind, thoughts like

"What's happening? Is this my husband?? Is this some kind of prank? Oh dear! My wish has come true! Oh dear! I hope this guy won't chew me up. He almost strangled me in the woods..what more now that we're getting married?" Were running through her mind.

The two surprised couples were so lost in thought and shock that they didn't even recognize they were saying their vows..

Until the priest shouted...??

"At this hour I declare you husband and wife!" That they jumped out of their dream world and looked at each other still in shock, uncertainty and different desires.

"You may kiss the bride" the priest said and Katherine's heart flew to her chest while Cole gave a short smile.

He wanted to kiss her so badly but he wouldn't want to force her.

"Those lips!" Katherine thought

"They smell so good,Looking like Roses of which thorns may come out from if I dare kiss it" Katherine thought.

So with different thoughts almost the same in the couples mind, they just pecked themselves on the cheek like normal aquintances and the crowd cheered.

The couple were directed to their decorated car, assigned to take them to the reception at Sir Greg's house.

In the car, Cole won't stop staring at her, making her feel so uncomfortable ..

Magically he felt relaxed and not as tensed as he was when they first met.

"Why is he staring at me!? Do I look horrible? Dear Lord! How come this is my husband? He's not even smiling! Why do I feel so doomed!" Katherine thought in her mind.

True to her words, Cole wasn't smiling. But deep in his heart and mind he was astonished by her beauty!

"So you are my Bride?" Cole finally had the courage to ask with of course a stern face..

With this girl he felt vulnerable.

"Funny enough" Katherine said turning her gaze.

"Interesting!" Cole simply said with a smirk and looked away.

"Interesting? What's interesting about this? Is he planning on exploiting me? Oh no!" Katherine's thoughts went wild again.

The reception was lovely.. everything was so beautiful..a lot of people congratulated them..the presentations were fabulous. At least they eased up the tension in her a bit..

Cole on the other hand, just looked on. He couldn't wait for all this to be over, so he could go home with his new charming wife .

The couples were driven to Cole's mansion for their honeymoon at around 11pm.

They were both tired, Cole went to the living room while Katherine dressed up for bed..she still couldn't believe she was married!

She felt like she walked into a road of thorns.

Somehow she hopes roses will come out of it.

But is it possible?

Could Roses come out of thorns?

She laid down on the soft bed wishing Cole does not insists on sleeping on the same bed with her.

As expected, Cole came into the room and smiled a bit.

"Are you sleeping here?" She asked.

"Of course.. I'm not sleeping on the couch for you! Don't worry, I won't touch you....yet" He said shocking Katherine.

"What does he mean By yet??" She thought but shoved it away as sleep over took her.

*Next morning*

The next morning, the two couples are holding themselves on the bed like love birds unknown to them.

Cole opens his eyes first and smiles seeing their position. He holds her tightly..

Immediately he noticed Katherine opening her eyes, he closes his eyes immediately, pretending to sleep.

Katherine opens her eyes and is shocked by their position.. she was about to struggle out of his strong arms but hesitated....

She relaxes and looks at Cole sleep.

An unknown smile escapes her lips.

"He sleeps like a puppy" she said looking at his face when suddenly..

"I didn't know that!" Cole answered with a smile, startling Katherine..

"Argggh!" Katherine screams and jumps off the bed.
