Chapter 29 Alice was satisfied. She was about to make a clean get-away and there was no one to stop her. That stupid hairdresser and Sharon’s moron brother couldn’t stop her. And that b***h cop was in the hospital. Larry had been right about one thing; they were too stupid to figure out much of anything. True, they had figured out who Sheriff Miller really was, but the hairdresser’s f*****g husband had conveniently rectified that problem. She smirked. Pressing the gas pedal, she picked up speed. She’d be in LA in a day if she drove all night. Once she was on I-5, she’d be home free. In LA she’d shack up with friends and lay low until the heat lost her trail again.
