I wiped the tears clouding my vision. "I promise never to hurt you again. I'll find Simon and make him pay for the troubles he caused you...us. Be rest assured everything will be fine. All will be well." I placed a peck on her chin, expectant eyes waiting to see her stir but I'm met with her pale and cold face.
I held onto her rubbing my palm on her back while kissing her hair. I prayed hoping for a miracle or a sign to save her and give me this last chance to right my wrongs.
Her body jerked forward and a light cough spills through her chest. Her body laid still for another five minutes.
