  The tension in the office was already thick when Rita walked in, her laughter sharp and mocking. Linet didn't even have to look up to sense her presence—Rita's tone alone was enough to send a chill through the room. Linet's heart skipped a beat as she heard the sarcastic words slip from Rita's lips.   "So someone was actually married and came after my husband," Rita's voice rang out, loud enough for everyone to hear, a cruel laugh punctuating the end of her sentence. "How ironic.
