Chapter 3:
"Why do you like like you were attacked by a
wild animal?" Aunty Mary Jane asked the
confusion smeared all over her face "And
where are you going with those bags" Spite
filled her eyes
"Your useless husband is a wild animal" I didn't
allow her process my response, and with all
the strength left in me I delivered a powerful
punch to her face "Where I'm going to is none
of your business" I pushed her slightly and
dashed out of the jungle she called home.
I ran, I ran as fast as my injured legs could take
me. I didn't look back, I couldn't, while I motion
I thought of entering the road, so my life could
just end, because if I didn't make it to New
York, there's a ninety per cent chance Aunty
Mary Jane was going to take my life.
I had taken more than four turns, I was sure I
lost them, not like anyone was following me or
anything, but I just felt safe enough to stop.
I took deep breaths, I needed it, and then it
occurred to me that I was running in the
opposite direction, but I wasn't scared,
anywhere away from my aunty was the right
direction.
I hid behind a bush and changed my top, I wore
a cardigan this time, and I was ready to leave.
"Taxi!" I yelled out to the yellow and black car
across the road. He waited. I got in and sighed
I breath of relief
"The train station" At last, I felt relief.
The taxi driver turned down his music and
asked me a few questions, it was a healthy
chat, talking about the weather, politics and his
daughter.
He took another left into the train station and I
placed a hundred dollar bill into the special tin
in the back seat, it was more than he charged,
but I felt like I owed it to him. He didn't know it,
but he saved my life. At least so I thought.
I got out of the taxi, and before I closed the
door I heard his soft voice again
"So where are you headed exactly, you seem
happy" the taxi driver asked
"I'm off the see my aunt in New York" I replied
"Well good for you! Safe travels"
"Thank you!" I slammed the door and walked
into the train station.

Jeffry 234: ma'am she's headed to New York, I
dropped her off safely and I guess she get
there in another 7 hours.
If you need me to continue following her that
would be an additional three grand.
Mary Jane Shocker: (Reply)No need for that,
come to the house, I have a plan"
At the train station:
"Hi I have an online ticket from Liver Pool to
New York" I said to the woman in uniform
"Can I see that please?" she asked politely
"Oh yes," I stretched my phone and showed her
the ticket my aunt Julissa paid for.
"Okay, your train is leaving in two minutes,
please hurry up and get a seat"
"Oh thank you" I smiled back at her and rushed
towards the train.
It was 4 o'clock already, I was exhausted. I liked
my seat on the train, it was very comfortable
and very cosy.
If my calculations were right, the train was
scheduled to get to New York in another six to
seven hours, which means I was going to get
to Aunty Julissa by 11 o'clock.
I wasn't scared of the night though, I knew New
York was still going to be bubbly by that time.

Nora Rivera: Good evening Aunty Julissa. I got
attacked again, but this time it was her
husband, he tried to r**e me.
But I just got on the train now, and when I arrive
we will talk better, see you soon <3.
The train wasn't as bad as I thought it would be,
it seemed calm and peaceful, everyone
minding their business.
As I was looking around, I stopped to admire
my reflection in the glass opposite me, a very
wide smile was plastered on my lips, for the
first time in a long time I felt happy, and I could
just feel that it wasn't going to be temporary, I
could feel my life moving in the same speed
with the train.
My phone beeped
#SMS
Julissa George: Alright my princess. I'll be
waiting for your call, please stay vigilant on the
train.
My aunty's reply sent a warm stroke to my
back, I was happy and relaxed, I hadn't felt that
way in a long time.
"A nice nap won't hurt" I connected my ear pods
and relaxed my head, took a deep breath and
shut my eyes.
Happy, relaxed and safe.
New York; The Baker's residence
"Son a meeting would be futile!" My father
yelled across the room.
I don't know why I still involved him in matters
concerning the office
"Dad! We need them if we are going to any the
federal contract" I stood up and walked closer
to the table where he sat "They've gotten a
federal contract before, and by the look of
things in the company we could use the extra
cash and exposition a federal contract would
give us"
"No!" my father barked back.
I felt I was wasting my time, I don't know why
he was so hard-hearted.
The last time I left him out of my plans, he
threatened to come back to the office.
"Dad" I paused, I wanted him to focus his eyes
on me "I'm going to Sunyun & co. and there's
nothing you can do to stop me" I affirmed with
all the boldness in my chest, I was tired of my
father trying to control the company he had
already handed to me, I am the CEO for Christ
sake.
"Son" my father's voice was calmer now
"Please sit" he gestured to the chair beside me
"I Frederick Baker, have been active in the
business sector for over 60 years" he poured
himself a shot of whiskey, no one disregards
their health like my father
"I know everything that there is to know, and I'm
telling you now, face to face, that Sunyun & co,
would not collaborate with you" he looked
away and lit his cigar.
"Why exactly, we have so much to offer" The
more I probed the more confused I got
"Their CEO is too arrogant, and he thinks
himself too big to work with other local
companies, and he has constantly ignored the
fact that we have international clients" He
gulped another shot "Don't waste your time
with them boy"
By the look on his face, I could tell he was done
with the conversation.
My persuasiveness worked on everyone except
my father, probably because we were birds of
a feather.
"Okay Dad" I stood up and made my way out of his library.
"So I'm guessing you're still going to go"
My mother grabbed my arm and walked down the hall with me
"Don't tell me you were eavesdropping" I leaned in closer to her
"Okay, I won't tell you" we both laughed.
I caught a glimpse of her angelic face, and it warmed my heart
"So, are you going to ignore your father and do
what you think is best?" she asked again with
sarcasm following her words
"Yes! Yes, Mom, I'm going to ignore my father"
he leaned even closer to her ears and
whispered "Again"
The sound of her laughter filled my heart.
"I need to sleep Mom" I pulled her into my arms
and placed a warm kiss on her forehead "Good
night, I need to rest for tomorrow" I winked and
made my way upstairs
But my mother's next word almost made me
fall
"Isabelle was here earlier".
The next morning.
Nora's pov.
The warm beams of sun rays slowly seeped
through the windows into my eyes, I didn't feel
like waking up, I still wanted to sleep.
I still felt tired, and then it dawned on me, it
was daybreak and I was still on the train.
A moving train!
