Chapter 4 : Getting ready

Alasiahs pov
I start walking towards the door exiting king Rodrick’s study as he says, “Hey, when you’re going to your room down the hall, can you tell Ezra to come to my study please?”.
I continue walking nonchalantly answering him, “Of course your majesty.”
I open the large dark brown door with a carving of a knight on his steed, looking down at a beautiful woman in the middle of a forest surrounded by tall trees. Leaving his room, I walk down the hallway for about two minutes before I stop in front of another large door, only this door doesn’t have carvings on it; it’s just plain.
I bring my hand up and make a fist going knock, knock, knock, “Ezra, it’s Alasiah.”.
Ezra opens the door and I notice he’s wearing a different pair of clothes. “Yes, Alasiah? How are you doing?”.
“I am doing alright. What about you? Did you get any rest?”.
“Yes, I did get rest. Not much, but that’s okay. I took a shower and changed into some clean clothes. I feel better already.”.
“That’s fantastic. Well I just finished speaking with King Rodrick, and he would like to have an audience with you.”
“Alright, I’ll just finish in here real quick and be on my way.”.
“Okay, have a good day. I have to start getting ready for my big trip to the Gerkie mountains.”.
I walk a few paces and stop in front of my door before opening it. I step into my big room. Sitting for a little bit I gather my thoughts on what will be needed and what I will be bringing.
I can hear rustling coming from my open window and my pet familiar raccoon comes up to me with a golden chain necklace with a white, red, and gold medallion and crawls into my lap.
I could hear what he was thinking, “I know you’re going to be leaving and I want you to have this so if you ever need my help you can call upon me.”.
“Well thank you. I know I might need you along the way Aziel. You’re quite good at scavenging things,” I say as I put the necklace on.
I made this necklace when I’d gotten my very first familiar while living with my coven. It helps transport any of my animals to me or somewhere I need them and they can talk to me through it.
“Where are you going,” Aziel asks while chittering.
I bring him to my chest while scratching and petting him, “I will be going to the Gerkie Mountains to help out Rodrick with some friends coming here. Something bad is happening to people, and he thinks that they can help. Hey can you get nova for me?”.
“Yes I can do that. Do you want her to come in here?”.
“Yes I do. Thank you Aziel.”.
Aziel gets off of me and goes to my window I always keep open for my familiars to come and go as they please.
I get up from my chair walking to my closet and grabbing three of my lightest dresses, one heavy dress, and one pair of boots with some socks, a bra, and some underwear.
I grab a small satchel and begin chanting a spell to make the bag larger inside than it seems so I can put all the things I need in it and to make it light.
After I finish my spell and put everything I grabbed from my closet and put it in the bag.
I draw some water in my bath so I can clean myself. I know I won’t be able to on the trip so I want to get it over with now. I strip myself of my short dress and boots and get in the steaming hot water. I sit in the water for a few minutes relaxing before I lather up my hair and body. I rinse off and stand up grabbing a towel and drying myself off.
I go to my counter and grab a brush and comb through my hair until it’s dry. After my hair is dry I start braiding it so I don’t have to worry about it getting nasty. I walk back to my closet and grab a beautiful light blue dress with birds and flowers laced in white, and put it on. I grab my boots and slip my feet in them. As I grab my bag and start walking out of my room Nova flies in the room squawking. I raise my arm up for her to land on.
“I’ll need you to come with me Nova.”.
“Ohhh okay, okay, where are we going? Oh wait nevermind, Aziel told me where we’re going. Alasiah, is it going to be dangerous on this trip?”.
“I don’t know yet but let’s hope not!”.
I walk out of my room and go to the forest where my cottage is. I have all of my potion ingredients and herbs and everything I use for my spells there.
I walk into my small home. I open my bag and start gathering stuff I know I might need. I make some healing salves and pastes for if I hurt myself. I put everything in my bag.
When I’m done I walk back to my room and check everything to make sure I have all I need, and am not forgetting anything I might need for the trip.
After that I go to my bed and lay down. Thinking about my trip for tomorrow I drift in and out of sleep.
