Alasiah’s pov Sitting in the gardens of my best friends palace; I see all of the beautiful flowers that have just bloomed as it’s just turned spring. Feeling the warm breeze on my skin, I turn towards the small tree and sit underneath its canopy. Playing with the little flowers and moss, I could hear someone running up to me. “Hi. Have you seen the king?”. I stand up and look at the man. He was tall and looked like he was fit with muscles all over his body, he had light blonde shaggy hair and stubble on his face with green eyes. He was holding a piece of parchment in his hands and looked like he was in a hurry. “No, but I can show you where he might be. Come with me I’ll help you.” I walk down towards the palace and see the high arches of the door and walk through the open space. The corridors have high ceilings and are light and airy. I’ve always felt at home here. I turn to see if he’s still following me and I see him give me a small smile. I continue down the hallway and round corners and finally stop in front a large door at least 20 feet tall. I give the door a loud knock and say, “Hello, King Rodrick it’s Alasiah. There is someone here to give you a parchment.”. I wait a few seconds before turning to look at the courier and ask him, “What is your name sir?”. He looks at me and opens his mouth but closes it right after. “My name is Ezra, ma’am.”. “That’s a nice name. Where are you from Sir Ezra?”. “I’m from the small village called Dounder. It’s actually pretty close to the North Sea. Not many people really like it there. I’m working as a courier so I can help me and my wife move somewhere else. My wife and I actually just found out we’re having a baby.”. “Wow, congratulations! Im so happy for your wife and you. It’s always amazing seeing new life being brought into the world.” After a few minutes of having a conversation with Ezra I can finally hear the grumbling from the other side of the door as King Rodrick opens it to look at us with sleepy eyes. “Hello Alasiah, how are you on this very nice morning?”. He stops and looks behind me to Ezra, and looks down at the paper in his hands. “And what may I ask, is that?”, pointing to the paper. “Let me see it.”. He motions for us to come inside. As we walk inside i see luxurious and colorful furniture. Dark red couches, bright gold colored chairs with beautiful beach wood tables with carvings trimmed in gold, and beautiful long black drapes with silver designs hung around the tall windows that let so much sun inside it could blind you. The room was magnificent you would wonder what the rest of the rooms in the palace looked like. Rodrick sat in one of the golden chairs with a high back and took the seal off of the paper and unrolled it. It read, “ Me and my council men demand an audience with you! There have been many deaths in my kingdom and my neighboring kingdoms. I’ve sent out letters to them. They have all written back with replies. They’re all seeing the same kind of violent killings from young children to elders in their cities and rural areas. Me and the other council from neighboring kingdoms will be meeting you in two weeks time. King Druin .” “Well this should be fun.” Rodrick says rubbing his face and groaning. “Alasiah did you know anything about people dying?” “No sir I didn’t, but it seems like there had been a lot of killings from the way the letter sounded. Is there anything I can do to help you?” Ezra clears his through as Alasiah and Rodrick look back at him. “Sir I was here to deliver the letter to you. I’ve done my job. I would like to be excused your majesty.” “Before you leave I’d like to ask you one question. Are you good with any weapons?” “Well I’m good with a sword, but I’m better with a bow and arrow. May I ask why you wanted to know that?”. Well I need to speak with Alasiah. Do you mind waiting about an hour and then we can talk. While you’re waiting I can have a room set for you and you can bathe, eat, and rest if you’d like. So, what do you say?” “No sir I don’t mind waiting. And I’d appreciate it,” Ezra says with a tired looked on his face I assume from his journey. “Alright I’ll have that done right now.” King Rodrick looks back at me with a worried look on his face.
