"It's easy to say."
Here we go again, Lord. There are many things that are hard to say, but they need to be done. Thank You, Lord, for the victory today and thank you very much, Lord, to Pastor Jerry for completing our series on the Pentateuch. I have mixed emotions because I couldn't explain the new transition that happened in the MidWeek Service. I prayed hard today, Lord, just to write correctly for You. The temptation is also strong, Lord, but I submit to You what needs to be done today. If there's one thing I learned from MidWeek that was taught effectively there, it's the importance of God's Word and its effect of transforming lives. It's always hard to say everything, that we shouldn't sin, that we can be corrected, that we can help people, that we can forgive those who wronged us, but in reality, it's very difficult. Our nature as humans is very vulnerable to sin, especially when it comes to our weaknesses, and even in things that we think will make us happy but actually destroy us. Just like others who cling to something, there are no other ways to earn a living but to do it in a wrong way. There are dirty ways that are very hard work, like being a hardworking laborer, but others are methods that once you get into them, either you'll be ruined or you won't recognize your identity anymore. At times, others determine their identity by their work, but as Christians, we should know our identity as children of God.
Ecclesiastes 10:14
14 A fool also multiplies words.
No man knows what is to be;
Who can tell him what will be after him?
"It's easier said than done," we often hear when talking about things that are hard to do. I experience this, Lord, even with simple tasks like doing laundry in a day. It's always on my mind to just wash two shirts, a towel, or underwear, but I still can't manage to do it within a day. It's just enough to start, look for work, and do other things that are easy to do. Another saying that comes to mind, Lord, is "promises are said to be broken." It's true that it's in our nature to make promises but not fulfill them. We should not be like this because it's hard to change or deceive people by not doing what we promised. For example, when it comes to borrowing money. Here, it's even heavier for the person borrowing because if you don't have anything to pay back, you can't force yourself. But what's sad is that sometimes or often, you promise to pay on a certain date and amount, but you don't. It's a sin because you said it but didn't pay on that day. In borrowing, it's different sometimes because they are the ones who are fooled when they don't get paid back. We should remember that as borrowers, it's our responsibility to those who lent to us. We should initiate paying back what we borrowed because we were the ones who initiated borrowing in the first place. Let our "yes" be "yes" and our "no" be "no" (Matthew 5:37, James 5:12) in all promises or oaths we make to people or to God Himself. There are many things we've said in our lives that we would do but can you still remember the strong effect of not doing what you promised but still being held accountable for it? Another example is when we say we'll study for today but we don't. In the end, what can we expect from the exam? It's clear. But it's even more serious when we make promises to God that we don't fulfill. Just like temptations that we can't resist but still fall into. Should we blame temptation for our sins? Of course, we blame ourselves, but to avoid falling into sin, we will find ourselves spending more time with God than with things that we don't need to do, which will immediately lead to things that aren't good for us. When we say we'll give time to God, let's really mean it and enjoy spending time with Him. It's not just about fulfilling a duty or saying we gave time to God, but truly enjoying and longing to do what God wants. There are times when we might fail if we don't always remember what's happening, but take note that God sees everything. We can't hide anything from God, no matter what we do. Whether it's good or bad, God knows what we do every day. Whether we say it or not, the Lord already knows what we will do. But don't neglect to communicate everything to God. Sometimes, we use our broken promises as a reason to be ashamed before Him. Remember that God's promises to us never fail, and that's why we should draw closer to Him even more. If we fail, let's not give up or be discouraged because God Himself is there. Remember always that we are God's children and we shouldn't be ashamed to ask for forgiveness from Him or ask anything for ourselves or for God Himself. Admit and submit that we can't do it on our own. Let our words be true before the Lord, no matter what happens, we will do it for Him and for our benefit, which is for our good. I pray, Lord, that I will continue to be consistent for You. No matter what struggles, pain, challenges, trials, or things I can't do, I know, Lord, that You're always there to help me. Help others, especially those who don't know You yet, Lord. Help them always realize that You are the solution to all problems. Help me to be a vessel of change for the people around me, Lord, so that they see You more than they see me helping them. Let Your goodness abound in everything and let love prevail over the worries in life. Let our love for You grow deeper and let us improve every day to serve You. I LOVE YOU JESUS❤️
